I rent a car in cyprus and paid the rent full in front and i park the car in a carpark and paid the carpark for 3 days parking fee. when i go back after 2 days in the night to the carpark i findout the car is not there ! straightaway i take a taxi to go to nicosia police to report it that the car is not there then they start to question me like i m the suspect they done full interview with me like if i steal the car. they said they beleive i cross the car to north and cut it ! After they told me they will inform me with a situation and i missed my plane and i had to stay in holiday inn nicosia untill in the morning which in the afternoon i had a call from police that they found the car ! Guest who took it?

What they told me : At the weekends car park guy changed and he saw the car all day there and in the evening befor he left because the car was still there he called the number (car rental company) on the car to tell the car there and noone come and pickitup ,then car rental company came and took the car.

This is the language which everybody understands here and i think everybody understands what i write.

By the way i m supporting car rental company which still i rent from them PETSAS because after this mistake they gave me latest convertible car and they paid my ticket as well. Thanks to them . everyone can made mistakes
My concern the police here which they blame me i steal the car and i beleive they done because i m turkish cypriot !!!!
You will go to report a rentacar stolen and they only has to give you crime referance number after they done normal interview about everything and then they can do their investigation !!! it wasnt nice

Why didn't you report it to the rental company before going to the police? After all it is their vehicle!

I called the office in larnaca and they said you have to report it to the police. they didnt know about the car is taken because Nicosia office took it and it was closed because of the time was 11pm
