I need clear clarification on the issue of residency in trnc

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

the roc recognises you as a citizen, hence your identity card, passport, etc. you do not need to obtain it, coz you can't obtain something you already got.

ps i can't believe we are discussing citizenship in someones place of birth

i NEED to obtain RoC citizenship in order to freely travel south...

i believe you apply, and then you get one. there is no set period of stay in the roc in order to get one. and once you get one you can continue to live in the north. many uni students, tcs, applied for their citizenship rights, got a passport and moved to london to study. i also believe dektashes grand kids are holders of roc passports. the traitors

this is done as to separate the illegals from the true cypriots.

what the north is asking is not the same. you are a foreigner even if you live there until you apply for citizenship. this means you cannot live in the south and be classified as a citizen in the north.

but why am i telling you all these, you already know it?

As far as I am aware you have to reside in the TRNC for a period of 5 years before applying for citizenship, its very close to your own rules.

Isnt it more important whether I recognize the "RoC" and take up it citizenship with all its responsiblites? Just registering as a citizen on paper and not contributing imo does not make a part of that state, you have to contribute in some way.

You can be born anywhere in EU doesnt automatically mean citizenship of that country. I have a relative who gave birth in the UK didnt automatically make the child British.

asses stink!!!! unless they are female, washed and ready i dont touch them.... I Am a Greek Cypriot who lives in the North, in what Sotos does not accept to be called the TRNC. A Greek Cypriot not only can buy land but he can do that TAX FREE!. Claiming land that originally belongs to Greek Cypriots is already underway, some 72 Greek Cypriots have already claimed their land from the relevant committee of the TRNC, and they are heading to a solution, either by compensation or by actual return where it is possible. A Greek Cypriot is free to come to the North and live and work, I am an example. And I dont kiss ass for that! I was offered a job at the University, at Bayrak Radio Television and I also write for a Turkish English speaking newspaper all at the same time and I earn an honest living, something which was impossible in the South. I do not like asses especially when they stink and it does not matter if they are Greek Or Turkish asses... for more details and/or legal matters pls feel free to contact me on [email protected]

Note: Sotos said the TRNC does not exist. How can you eliminate a state with 275,000 citizens, a proper government and all relevant organisations I do not understand....or is it what you WISH? to ELIMINATE? Uou must be very GREEK, but are you a eal Cypriot?

Fanur don't you think there is something bizzare that Greek Speaking Cypriots have to apply to have claim on the land they alreadyown, and how many of the 82 or whatever the number is, have actually been granted their property back. Do you not find it strange that a cypriot of greek speaking backgroung has to go through the same process to buy land as a foreigner. A foreigner in their own country. Thre is something ethically strange about that notion.

However at least I ave found that, I can now live in Cyprus without having to spend 3 years of my precious life in the army learning how to use a gun, that its ultimate purpose is to take another human life, YUKS!
