As I started my post a couple of hours ago I'm sorry I didn't see your post .
I had to go out for a while and left the post half finished on the computer then finished it of when I returned home.

Apart from some lost tribes in the Amazon and places like Iceland, there is no country with "pure blood". Take turks for example: The original turks were Asian (thin eyes etc). When they came to our areas the got mixed with Kurds, Greeks, Armenians and other Mediterranean people and now they only have a very small amount of that original Asian Turkish blood. Does this mean we should stop calling the Turks as Turks?

Personally I think every person should be free to identify as whatever he feels like. How each one of us feels like should be irrelevant since in the end everybody should be equal Cypriot citizens regardless and their language, religion, color etc.

The solution is not to oppress what people feel, but to show respect to all without any discrimination.

can greeks and turks live together what a question who cares about the greeks and turks we are cypriots not greeks and turks , and those who think we are greeks and turks they need their head examined, not only that they should ban all greek and turkish flags from the island of cyprus they should also break diplomatic ties with mainland greece and turkey, we should have a cypriot identity instead of everyone shouting we are greeks and turks,we should be proud to be cypriots. but instead all i hear is a lot of uneducated morons saying we are greeks and turks from presidents to business men to the common man on the street, cypriots have been slaves for thousands of years and they are no different today. i m ashamed to call myself a cypriot when i look around me and see how our own people sell us out to greece and turkey, not only that they feel proud of the fact. all i know is im a cypriot i dont recognise greece or turkey. what a shame the island of cyprus is soo brainwashed they dont even know their own identity.

Join the club brother ! Indeed we are All Cypriots , the motherland ideology brought our island nothing but conflict and suffering. I'm a proud Cypriot as well as British , both of these nations are my countries .
We owe the "motherlands " nothing . Our allegiance must be to Cyprus.

Piratis let me just say that our educational systems as well as our religious and social structures manipulated us and removed from us something that every single nation on earth proudly possesses. Our identity as Cypriots . There is no other nation on earth that people are not proud of their belonging. The Sicilians are fiercely proud of being Sicilian first Italian second. The constant manipulation of our young and the fervent indoctrination that takes place with both communities is a historical disgrace and has thus produced nothing but conflict.Let us give the Cypriot identity the respect it deserves and to hell with the foreign "motherlands" For any one who misunderstands my motives let me just say that I'm not denying my G/C ancestry and neither do I expect the T/Cs or the Armenians or indeed any of the new comers in Cyprus to deny theirs , but our primary identity must be that of our nation.

1- I m Turkish Cypriot but honestly and true judgement for this question
Sadly i saw on many different situations and 80% of Greeks Cypriots can not live as a neighbour with the turks or turkish cypriots !!!!
I go Larnaca , Paphos and Limassol in Cyprus minimum 5 times a year and i have many friends and i talk many of them about our situation.
FOR FUTURE : Both sides has to stop brainwash their childrens and people they are releated about past !
