YES! We can live together harmoniously, it has been done in Pila (Pyla) for years, I have been there 3-4 times since 1981. Nice quiet town. :)

Although I am not a Tpap fan, I have to say that there is not much this guy can do without the cooperation of the other side and namely Mr Talat.

The guy has managed to convince the UN to give it another go in the form of the 8 July agreement and despite some shouting and kicking from the Turkish side they finaly said yes. How many people know why this agreement is not being implemented? Well, the main reason is, and correct me if wrong, Mr Talat refuses to discuss the property issue.

How many TCs have told Mr Talat to get back to negotiations and discuss what changes the GCs want? I believe not that many. Just to reverse the argument made by VP, why aren't TCs shout and make some noise about Talat getting back to negotiations and viewing GCs concerns about the Annan plan with an open mind. I told it sooooooooo many times before, lets see 3-4 changes to the Annan plan that don't really affect TC rights:

1. Remove the Guarantor Powers CLAUSE from the plan and let EU or even Nato oversee the withdrawl of the Turkish Army and guarantee piece for 5-10 years.

2. No need for 900 Greek and 600 Turkish troops to stay on the island

3. Remove the clause that gives the vice president of every government department/ministry/Service the right to veto a desicion. Instead use Akel's proposal to let the TCs choose which departments/ministries they want a TC to be the president and the GC to be the Vice-president and let the president decide. There is no need to make things unworkable if some dickhead wants to stop things from happening and bring us into a deadlock.

4. Fuck the British and their demand to have sovereinty over the sea waters or air space. Now people know why they so desperately wanted to have rights over the waters of Cyprus.

I challenge any TC to say which of those 4 points they don't agree with. These are 4 points that are of paramount importance in having a truly independent state with no foreign patrons who want to feed on the island in the same way as parasites feed on living organisms.
Why don't the TC brothers understand that these are four points that are important for Cyprus as a whole and not to just TCs. Why TCs dont make any noise and shout at Talat about not even accepting to discuss these things while in the past he was a champion of this kind of solution.

And finaly DO TCs AT THE END OF THE DAY WANT A TRULLY INDEPENTED COUNTRY OR A PUPPET OF TURKEY, GREECE AND BRITAIN!!!

I would've liked and hoped to say "yes", but after a few weeks of reading posts on this part of the forum I would have to say that if people here are a fair reflection of cypriots as a whole, then the answer would have to be categorically NO!

Nobody can live together if all their life is politics. Not even leftists with rights not even British with British.
Have you seen what happens in the parliaments of Taiwan and Hong Kong?

This section of the forum represents a life of politics.Politics and the Cyprus problem is NOT really in the minds of ordinary people (GCs/TCs alike) for more than a minute per week.

first of all we do not have a president or a prome minister that represents the cypriot people, we have the sooo called leaders of the north and south representing their supposedly community. to me this si a slap in the face and an insult to whole of cyprus since the only thing that devides the cypriots is christianity and muslims turkish speaking and greek speaking. anyone who studies riligion will tell you that christianity and islam is the same religion. one cannot become a muslim without excepting the teachings of the bible. lets look at spoken language of cyprus the amount of times cyprus has been invaded and occupied in the histroy i m suprised we only speak two languages. when you have people of cyprus arguing over human rights of an individual for example when the cypriots speak of minorety and mojorety they already create a complex. firstly are or are we not cypriots. the answer is yes . but many people in cyprus make the mistake in believing that they are greeks or turks from the mainland of greece or turkey we have nothing to do with these two countries we have an accosiation with them though the spoken language thats foar as it goes. cyriots have not graspted even this simple idea that we are cypriots and we should fight for our right instead we give our rights to turkey and greece as well as britain and america this si disgraceful to all who are the pillors of the comunnity of cyprus all the ay to the so called presidents and their representatives that i do not recognise. when we think as one we will be one when we think in twos and we create divisions.............................................................
heres a simple question for all who read this china is becoming a super power now and in the next 30 years it will over take america as the most powerful nation on the planet ..............heres your question ................if china invaded europe occupied cyprus and forced everyone to learn to speak write and have chinese names ............... will that make us chinese ????????????????????????????????????
