I know that it sounds cynical Humanist but it just goes to show that the cup can be half full no matter which way you look at it. I am not heading towards hell by choosing my path but to an alternative heaven.

Zan,

You may have a wish as to how a "heavenly outcome" may happen from a "forced" partition, but if the Greek Cypriots tell you now, not a "chance in hell" will we let part of Cyprus go, then there won't be much of a "heaven" left to go to, is there.??

And here is one Cypriot telling you" not a chance in hell" My island , your island will never be part of Turkey or Greece . We the true Cypriots will continue our peaceful struggle to retain our independent nation for generations to come. The international community will NEVER accept annexation of part of Cyprus that is considered under occupation , to become a Turkish province . Cyprus is our land not the land of the Turks or the Greeks.

Kikapu
VP,

I will never insist on censuring you. In fact, I respect all Partitionist, just not too crazy about all the propaganda that is thrown around with your Partitionist views, and that's all I'm talking about, regarding keeping the reins on you. If you are interested in a workable solution, then lets see some of your ideas and lets discuss them.

I do not know, what positive things are done in the "TRNC". I hope there are many. You keep asking me to tell you something positive that the TC's have done. I do not live there, so why don't you do all of us a favour, and educate me, please. Tell me how we are any closer to a solution. That's all I'm interested in. Is there something wrong in that.??

I said, I LIKE TO THINK, that I was on the side that wanted a solution. If you add all the "True Greek Cypriots" and all the "True Turkish Cypriots", I believe, we are the Majority.

Partition is just another form of solution, that you happen to disagree with, this does no tmake one side right or wrong good or bad. We all want tolive peacefully and have different ideas to achieve this. I argue that the last 33 years is a far better example for everyone than the previous 14 years which was not something we want to return to.

Why should I argue in favor of unification thats your champion not mine and the responsiblity to perusade me that its a winner is really down to you.

This is like saying that you car is better then mine and then saying explain why yours is better than mine. Surely its down to you to tell me why I should change mine and accept yours.

The got on the streets and held the biggest meeting in the world according to populaiton size

The TCs got rid of Denktas

Voted a pro unification president into power

Voted a pro unificaiton government in

Voted YES to the only solution put before us which did not drop out of the sky is was UN brokered by hundreds of experts from both the UN and EU, the teams also included GCs and TCs.

The TRNC law 159 has been changed to allow return of GC property

A property commission has been established to accept GC property claims by return or compensation.

Gcs are allowed to travel all over the north

"RoC" passports are accepted at our ports and GCs can travel out of Ercan

GCs can conduct religious ceremonys in their churches

Spring to mind....can more be done of course it can but both sides are still playing the tit for atat game as unificaiton is not the real agenda for either side.

If you are majority as you like to think then you are to blame for there not being a solution....as the majority elected both administrations.

unfortunatly cypriots are sooo fucking brainwashed that they dont ever question anything they except the fact they are greeks and turks they never stop to think our blood is proberbly the most mixed through the centuries off occupation. greece and turkey they had their empires and they comited their crimes and looting and barbaric acts and cyprus was occupied by both of these barbaric countries in theur personal quest for power but cyprus is still cyprus thats why i could never bring myself up to call myself greek or turk i feel ashamed that people actualy think this way, i never denie the fact i speak one of the languages from these ex c conquerers but i never been to turkey or greece and i have no desire as i dont recognise them anything but couple of countries on the map . but cyprus is my motherland ad the only mother land

one of the greatest mistakes people make here in this forum is that the belief of cyprus is independent cyprus psychologicaly belongs to turkey and greece not only that the cypriots except this with open arms this is where cypriots go wrong they have no other identity but being greek and turkish,

My apologies for the delay but I was busy

Viewpoint wrote:LENA lets break down and address your post;
I did state that you can get on the streets and protest to your leaders that they are not doing enough to find a solution and that you believe it is them that are the negative side.
You can also get rid of the Turk hater ex eoka man and elect someone who is pro solution who you know will take the necessary steps to bring both sides together for direct talks.
As i said above get rid of him...show him you mean business storm his palace, protest make some noise, stay silent and he knows you agree with him which obviously you do.

Ok how many times do I have to discuss about the protest thing?? Don’t start with all this bullshit that I can run in the streets and complain about the TCs. We used to go to manifestation about those things as students and do you know what we got from that??? People shut to death and pieces of paper in our schools from the Minister that we shouldn’t manifest as an action for peace and good willing. Because every time that we protest we challenge the Turks and that doesn’t help the whole situation at all. I will be the first page joke!!! They (TC) are not even willing to get rid of the Turks and unified with us…So any advice? Any suggestions for action?

As for our president…do you know that we have democracy in Cyprus? He was elected…I am not the right person or able to get rid of him…and when you make mistakes…you usually have to pay for that …our payment is his duty…but anyway I don’t know any capable person for that position among our politicians. And if you want noise…we have lots of bells in Cyprus…but even if we put them all together …the sound will not affect any important politic. If I am wrong then please correct me…

If having and operating direct flights is only your right then tell me so I know, is that what you are saying? is that a right only reserved for the GC administration of this island? why cant we to operate our own airport just like you or are we less human than you? Who are selling what to ? no one is selling anything, you are just allowing me to have what you have its called equality, why is that such a problem for you to understand and accept.

First of all I don’t operate any flights…and this right as you said ….its the Cypriots right…not Greek not Turkish…just Cypriots…but the airport is under the Turkish supervision…not the Cypriot. I never said that you are something less than me…not less Cypriot neither less human….is that clear??? “I do allow you” to have anything that I am having…but you don’t. “I allow you” to have the same id as me, “I allow you” to have the same passport as me, “I allow you” to go wherever I go, “I allow you” to work wherever I work, “I allow you” to buy whatever I buy…I concern you as equal, I understand you and I accept you. I accept you as a compatriot and offer you my company…I understand your deny and your precaution…WHAT DO YOU DO FOR ME? WHY YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND ME? WHY YOU DON’T ACCEPT ME? WHY YOU DON’T TREAT ME AS EQUAL??

No we do not tell them f--k off, we establish dialogue and try to solve this issue by encouraging all refugees to claim their property rights for GCs via the property commission and you set and equivelent in the south for us.

Because I learned that I shouldn’t talk for things that I don’t have knowledge about …I will not answer that. I don’t really know the legal process…

This will be the ultimate goal but keeping one side at a disadvantage will not take us to where we want to go.

I will give advantage by showing my passport in my own country and by issuing visa?

I am not saying this, with reagrds to the army I do not want any army or arms on the island. The settlers issue is not that difficult they will vavcate GC property and be rehoused and allowed to stay under agreed criteria with yourselves, we could even us EU standards that you apply to your own immigrants of which you have 40.000 Pontiacs.

Do you think that immigrants and settlers are the same thing??? And they will vacate? I never heard something like that…I heard only that they want money or houses and even better …they want the house they live all this years…oh and they demand they don’t want!!!

The only time the TCs were asked about a comprehensive solution for unification they voted YES but your resoundingly voted NO. This was a Un brokered plan prepared by thousands of experts which included both GCs and TCs.

That plan had lots of misleads…we asked just a better for all of us…not division. That plan had to do with other stuff like army settlers etc…that was not just a plan for TC and GC…

Since the referendum ı can truly say the momentum has been lost as the referndum was result was a hard slap inthe face of TC unificiationsits who have not requestioned their beliefs and the 65% imo is a true reflection of TCs who have now moved closer to a split of a 2 state solution. To change this tide the GCs ahve to take positive steps to prove to TCs that they are sincer and genuine in claiming they want a fair solution as it appears that want a solution which is only fair to them.

And we have done those steps forward…but nothing is enough any more for you…and you are doing steps back…even if your steps are slower than ours we are not going to rich you anyway. I don’t blame you that you have been suspicious but we have to move on…move away from 1963, from 1974, from Anan plan….that is the past and nothing can change the past….the future is in front of us and we can do hundreds of things for a better future…but we have to want to do those things…and trust each other.

How do you suggest getting your views accross to your leader if you do not protest or make your voice heard, will you get rid of a leadership which ahs done absoulutely nothing to solve things? You agree with humanist and he states that GC should do more but you cant even agree to go on a protest march against our own administration, protesting your dissatisfaction at their passive stance.

As for our president…do you know that we have democracy in Cyprus? Get rid of the ex eoka turk hater and then ring those bells as much as you want.
Only yesterday we read pasrt from Cleridies book about Tasoss and how he really views TCs and you still keep him in power, that says a lot about the GCs.

First of all I don’t operate any flights…and this right as you said ….its the Cypriots right…not Greek not Turkish…just Cypriots…but the airport is under the Turkish supervision…not the Cypriot. The "RoC" operates flights, if they see it fit for GCs to operate airports then surely its only right that we TCs shoudl also run an airport for all Cypriots to use.

You have many freedoms in the North its just that you do not want to use them, ask fanos about his life here, you could learn many things.

Do you think that immigrants and settlers are the same thing??? And they will vacate? I never heard something like that…I heard only that they want money or houses and even better …they want the house they live all this years…oh and they demand they don’t want!!!

Settlers will be rehoused but if you insist on sending them back then you to have to also reconsider with us those immigrants you have granted citizenship in the past so that we can apply the same rules.

That plan had lots of misleads…we asked just a better for all of us…not division. That plan had to do with other stuff like army settlers etc…that was not just a plan for TC and GC…

So all those experts were out to get the GCs?

And we have done those steps forward…but nothing is enough any more for you…and you are doing steps back…even if your steps are slower than ours we are not going to rich you anyway. Which GC steps are you referring to? are they enough to establish trust?
