CORNET Wales aka price harry to go to Iraq

Postby tessintrnc » Fri Feb 23, 2007 2:28 pm

Quoted as "thrilled" to be posted to Iraq..........to fight for his country???? I think hes a little confused about what the Iraq war is all about - perhaps he doesnt realise people are DYING out there, and thats nothing to be THRILLED about. I suppose the poor bored young man misses fox hunting - so heres an opportunity to go hunt and kill live targets. Its an absolute disgrace that the British government is allowing this obnoxious spoilt brat to put the ROYAL stamp of approval on this illegal war.

The Queen is Head of the British Armed Forces, so I see no suprise in her son a) being in the military and b) going to Iraq. In fact, if he was given a nice 'soft' posting (Cyprus?) there would be voices raised that he is not being treated as other are.

The issue as to whether the British should be there is another matter, but are they not withdrawing?

I miss fox hunting , and I am working class from a mining area. Good luck to HRH Prince Harry and if every body gets off his back he can carry out the job that is required.

Sigh.... you're wrong again.

The war already has "the Royal stamp of approval" since the British Army are fighting on behalf of the British Government which serves the Soverign.

BTW I wish you hadn't made a two typos in the subject because it confused the heck out of me until I actually bothered to open the thread.... thought you meant "what price on ice cream cornet harry going to Iraq". I have corrected the subject at the top of my post, to avoid any confusion....

..but aren't Wales an endangered species, anyway?

<<The Sovereign is Head of the Armed Forces and only he or she can declare war and peace. >>

I wondered what she did all day?

Oh! your correction is meaningless. Cornet is right. A coronet is a small crown, as worn by, e.g., dukes. A cornet is the fifth commissioned officer in a troop of cavalry, who carries the colours.

Fair play, you're right with that bit of what I said - I was wrong.

Make the most of it people, it really doesn't happen very often at all.... ;)
