Personal attacks and behavior in general

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Pyrpolizer » Wed Feb 28, 2007 4:08 pm

The only ones who never use foul language are those WHO WRITE ALMOST NOTHING.
Svetlana wrote something more than nothing above, and see for yourselves whether she managed to keep foul language out or not.

Hence if you want to close down the forum all you have to do is ban those who use foul language.

Hi Pyr

I think 'the only people who write nothing do not use foul language' is because so many people are put off posting because a small group of 12 people or so, regard CyProb as a private club in which they are free to hurl abuse at each other. If this atmosphere did not prevail, we would have many more people posting.

I guarantee you you would so much less that the forum would eventually close down. :!:

Your basic error derives from your assumption that people use foul language for the sake of it. If it were like that you would be right, but it is NOT so.

Cypriot people who discuss in the Cyprob subforum discuss because the subject BURNS them. Argumentation leads to heating up, heating up leads to foul language.

The only ones who are not affected by this, are foreign participants who do not really care, thus they never have to use foul language either.
If this is the kind of forum you want, then it's very easy to have it.

Furthermore banning members who use foul language-just because they can't avoid it as they belong to the group of the few SIGNIFIGANT Cypriot contributors, is in my opinion a crime against the forum itself.

You guys need to stop talking about how Lana is not doing enough or how she needs more help and llok to yourselves. Lana is not a babysitter and she shouldn't have to ground any of you for being bad and wash your mouths with green soap. I am Cypriot too and I get mad sometimes also. I have noticed that if I step away for a few and come back, i can type without using foul language. Try doing the same. Act like the adults you all claim you are, and stop looking for scapegoats. All of your messages get lost in the filth you fill them with and that is nobody's fault but your own. Lana is doing a more than exceptional job, considering she didn't sign up to be a kindergarten teacher, but that's what she ended up being.

It is in my humble opinion (humble my ass) that a new adults-only message area aptly named "Anything Goes" would serve for people to vent off, as is sometimes naturally required for warm-blooded forum members (with the exception of Bananiot who is actually a coin-operated macro), where they could verbally abuse each other if desired and of course there could be a warning of that, if the software allows, prior to entering the area.

I would also like to suggest the sufficiently qualified Fanos to act as the area’s moderator. :)
