waiting for parcel

Postby cyprico » Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:28 pm

Carleen, I buy most of my items from Uk and America, never had a problem yet. America can take up to 1 month depending on the size and weight. Uk usually 1 week no longer.

Electricals good will have the tax and duty on them so you have to pay extra. Go to the main post office near the police station in Larnaca, at the side there is an entrance for the parcels, you can go and enquire in there.

BTW Fed-Ex is left at the lights before the police station, and there is another one on the Airport road, there are several Fed Ex companies in larnaca.

Hope this helps. P.S let us no how you get on as I am looking to get some medicine from America.

I guess after all the running around looking for the parcel, you won't need these pills anymore:)

Hi Carleen,
We've ordered several items from USA - usually on ebay!

As a rule, it takes 2 - 4 weeks for the delivery and, depending on the size and cost of the item - it can get delivered to the main post office instead of our local office (we are based in Limassol).

If we have to go to the main office - we almost always get charged VAT on both the item and the shipping costs. However, I am almost certain that VAT does not apply to vitamins.... but forewarned, is forearmed I believe!!

Hey, at least it arrived okay!

We've been lucky so far - none of our parcels has gone missing and we've ordered from Hong Kong, Canada & USA.

Glad you got it in the end...

I NEED A MAILDROP LOCATED IN CYPRUS-COULD YOU HELP ME?

Postby cuccioloneus » Sat Mar 03, 2007 9:47 pm

I'm an italian man who is looking for a place where i can receive mail and personal packages without the hassle of having to pay customs duties to the Italian customs; now i'm having problems with the Italian postal service that applies customs duties to my packages coming from the U.S.A.; before i never had to pay customs duties for my packages and now the postal service of my country is creating problems to me! Do you know if i would pay customs duties for packages from U.S.A. to Cyprus and from Cyprus to be forwarded to Italy? Is the Cyprus customs strict and does the Cyprus customs usually open the packages to determine the value of their content? I'm interested only in mail forwarding service.
I hope you will help me!

Thank you.

Join the rest of us Giuliano - we too have to pay duty on items from USA, here in Cyprus.
Do you really think someone will agree to provide a mail drop for you if you say you import guns???
