"An official from the Turkish-occupied north of Cyprus claimed yesterday that Nicosia does not have the right to represent the whole island in oil exploration deals.

“No agreement without our views and signature will be valid,” said Turgay Avci after meeting Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul in Ankara".

From an article on the forum, do not have details.

But how is this. NO agreement with turkish cypriot regime views WILL NOT BE Valid....... I think he is huge denial. Well for Now they they will be valid however after unification if you choose to accept it. Your views will count and agreements may or may not be valid pending on your views.

ekourdisendon o megalos o perdikovilos na pi etsi. he was couched to say that. so don't hold it against him. it’s a matter of not having any real choices.

but one thing is for sure, turkey is gonna watch and weep as all the oil now, if found, will go straight to the eu.

i must say when ataturk decided on the borders of the country, he got the wrong end of the stick. all the countries around turkey got some oil/gas and turkey got none. this is why they are also making noises about kirkuk. turkey is becoming desperate and its starting to show
