Why has Talat not banned the sale of GC property/land?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Why has Talat not banned the sale of GC property/land?

Postby eracles » Thu Feb 22, 2007 5:58 pm

ON-TOPIC SPECIAL - all messages in this thread guaranteed to be on the topic in the title!

Humanist has tried to get somewhere with this question but it inevitably veered off topic, as this post will too no doubt

Anyway. What steps has Talat taken to stop the illegal sale of land and property owned by the GCs? Is the continued sale supposed to be some sort of imperial punishment for GCs not being happy with a solution that the TCs were happy with?

He has taken no steps my friend. He thinks the Anan Plan "gave them those rights"....

Basically Talat as a puppet of Ankara is working for recognition.

On the other hand the Technical committees have not even yet started, because Talat refuses to include the matter of properties.

Talat couldn't stop it even if he wanted to. He takes all his orders from Ankara. Furthermore, Ankara takes its orders from the head of the Army. So the relevant question is, why doesn't the head of the Turkish Army stop the selling of GC properties?

You might think u r so clever with all your “puppet” chat, but in the end u will have 2 sit down at a table with this guy and talk to him, if it helps u sleep at might by burying your heads in the sand, then b my guest, all u r doing is spewing out what the greek cyprus propaganda machine has fed into that hole between your ears, (I wont use the word brain as it is probably not appropriate in most cases)

Remind me who was it who removed the bridge from Ledra Street????

Because it makes a solution more difficult?
Because it's morally bankrupt and extremely disrespectful?
I know there's a lot of things that Tpap could be doing also, but this thread isn't about Tpap, this is about Talat and the sale of GC land and property.

well dont you think its all relative and reciprocal?

i think it would be very wrong to only discuss one side, and expect to get a constructive debate, which i believe is what you are after, unless im wrong and you just want to hear how horrible the TRNC and Turks are in general...

Some of them were moved into by the 200,000 refugees that fled from the north. Many of them have become dilapitated, others have been renovated by guardians who will be have to return the property and be compensated in the event of a solution.

In the north there is plenty of room given the population to land ratio, but you're selling the excess to holiday makers?
