Maybe this topic is going off the boil ... but I just hate it when one person looks down on another person, because of their circumstances.

Prostitution in perspective is practiced by most people to relative degrees.

Be it simply working for someone you don't respect, to putting on a "good show" (e.g. even a smile and a "Have a nice day") to get a customer to return (to a shoe shop or pub etc.).

So long as the weak are protected from exploitation, most things are acceptable in an adult world.

Come on get real you silly person. It is widely known that the vast majority of prostitues nowadays are doing what they do under duress. Less of the fancy language and a little more common sense please.
The weak are not protected but are taken advantage of, less reading sweetie and get out more..you are out of touch !!!

Purdey, you champion of prostitutes... how do you explain that most of these "refined" ladies keep returning for as many six-monthly tours of duty as the law will allow?

You claim to have common sense now use it!

Don't be so harsh with me .... I am feeling vulnerable :?

I said "So long as the weak are not exploited" .... So, for those women forced into prostitution, well the Law has to protect them.

Maybe a new thread entirely ... but it could easily be tackled by legalising prostitution thus opening up the way for those women to be self-employed, pay tax and have the full protection of the Law and Society behind them ... like any other business.

(P.S. Before I receive any PMs asking if I am one for supporting them, no I am not .... I just abhor injustice!)

There are those who ply their trade as your legitamate hostesses and fleece the sad and weak, and there are those that end up in a shitty apartment being drooled over.
