but I imagine that is a problem all over the world.

that wasn't the topic here....anyhow....

I was just snooping around this old topic, and found out a malicious comment I wanted to reply on.

yes, we were all illegal, which is not right, but I had to make another point.

Not in the eyes of the law Sanja. I sympathise with you but the likelyhood of returning to Cyprus is pretty remote.I would not be suprised if you are also on the EU data base as a deported Serbian national.
I suppose the trick is never get caught and keep moving.

People ensured me of the fact that after a period of time, say 6 years, these records are erased, and there is a possibility of coming back.

Don't know ..but I will try to find out in the Cypriot embassy here.

I am aware of the fact that the law sees us all as illegal immigrants, I just wanted to state the difference on the moral basis between workers like myself and others who were prostituting.

One piece of advise Sanja, if you approach the Cypriot Embassy they will re affirm your illegal immgrant status. The reference will be updated not erased. The only way to do this is try legal entry to Cyprus again, I fear though your file will be ongoing for more than six years.
On a moral stand point I am with you 100%, but please do not forget some of these girls did not know they were going to have to sell their bodies, and many of them fear for their safety of themselves and family back home if they refuse to carry on.
Maybe we should be focussing on the dirty bastards who bring them to Cyprus and the sad individuals who use and exploit them...and if someone pinched my arse when I was serving them a drink, I would break their fingers...

thanks, purdey, for the understanding... and advice. It's a good advice. Didn't think of it that way. You're right. Maybe it is not the best idea to go to the embassy. Will try something else, to find out .... cause I would never dare to go again and risk it. I have to know for sure. Especially know I have a child, it becomes more complicated.

Are you a female? From all the understanding and kind, warm comforting I would say so. :) Thanks, anyway. :)

And I totally agree on the exploitation matter. Trafficking is a horrible thing.

I am a English male but brought up in Cyprus. I work there and in the UK. I wish you and your child luck for the future. If I can be of any help I am always willing to try.
Take care...

there's no difference... that's also work if you don't do it for pleasure and you are getting paid.
