Dear PYRPOLIZER (the quest of defending my hounour)

Postby Sanja » Wed Apr 09, 2008 9:32 am

Many prostitutes from Russia, Ukraine, Romania etc. were working in Limassol that summer, I remember them well. They were all over those night bars and casinos, but those 'working' in so called 'pubs' were especially interesting , where they sat all night with Cyprus middle aged, depressed guys in need of a shoulder to cry on, (and a little adultery).... The more drinks the guy gets her, the more money to the boss, and she gets some percentage of it.
I remember, as I was living next door to a group of those kind of girls, every night around 8pm, a long, expensive looking car was coming around to pick them up and get them to whatever casino they worked at. They were all dressed up...it looked so sad.

And on the other hand, there was a bunch of us *from Serbia* who worked an honest living out of this bar tendering and waitressing. Shifts from 9pm till 4-5 am, on your feet all night, serving drunk crowds, always had to wear a smile, no matter how many drunk idiots from England, or Ireland, or Cyprus, or....tried to get your phone number, pinch your ass or
find out where do you stay on beach ...
A bunch of us who were WORKING. As opposed to prostituting.

Hmmmm. You sure hun? Cause there aren't any casinos in Limassol. Its illegal in Cyprus. You can only find them in the occupied areas in the north.

Sad fact of life that prostitution still exists on a large scale in Cyprus.I would like to see the deportation of many a prostitute but money talks in Cyprus wether it be Russian or Cypriot.
Your case however, although you worked on a less seedy side you still broke the law and worked without permission. If I were you I would expose the people you worked for and for hireing you illegally.
I believe if you have been deported there is little chance of returning to Cyprus on a legal basis. Good luck to you...

Cabaret...plenty of prostitutes in Limassol, even after the last round of deportations. Immigration is a good place to start, genrally chaparoned by an ex eastern block heavy...

People working illegally in Limassol, back in those years, was 'common knowledge", is that the right expression? Everyone knew about it...
And you could find that sort of employees in every other place....
from all over the world.
So reporting on all those employers would mean shutting down half of the places in th town.

I meant, you could find illegal workers in such places *coffee shops, discos, pubs* easily. They were all over the place
