Big F****ng deal   Jerry, you are a little busybody but an insignificant one.

I bet you live in a cheap apartment in Cyprus and a council flat in Newcastle, a poor bitter soul wanting but not getting any better, and jealousy eating you up.

Well smart arse it's a good job you didn't bet money. If you read the whole thread you would understand why I reported the ad. I don't have a cheap apartment in Cyprus, we do have a house in the north but it was stolen 33 years ago, yes I am bitter.
I do not live in a council flat in Newcastle, I own property in the UK in excess of £1 million, anything else you would like to know?

Yes, I went 5 years ago and many times before 1974.

What is your opinion? You have given us your mates comment but why have you not gone back to see for yourself?

I think its changed a fair bit in 5 years from what I have heard, but I had a good day out for £10 plus £40 for taxi. £10 bought lunch for myself and the taxi driver in Bogazi , coffee in Famagusta, cokes at Kyrenia harbour and a film for my camera - unbelievable. The place did not seem as busy as the south, not so much traffic on the roads and some places seemed run down although Bogazi was much smarter than I remember it. I did notice a lot of new buildings. I met a really interesting old boy in Famagusta, he told me he used to play in the local football team with GCs when he was younger. I went up on the wall in Famagusta and took some pictures of Varosha, it was very sad to see the ruined city I remember from the past. The taxi driver was briefed by a TC policeman before we left Nicosia, I think he told him to keep an eye on me - remember this was before the "border" was opened. The driver was great, he spoke quite good English but several times he said "no photo here" I think he was more worried about me than I was.
I just wish the politicians and "external forces" would leave the Cypriot people to solve their own problems, they could if they really wanted to they have so much in common.

About 10 miles north east of Famagusta on the coast at the base of the panhandle, it's a small fishing port.
