Question for the Partitionist...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The RoC has never prevented any TC from coming to the south even before the opening of the gates.
hes not referring to TCs hes referring to EU nationals and Gcs who flew in via Ercan, do you remember the court case you had to lose due to EU laws on freedom of movement.

And by the way it was not the EU that made them to allow EU citizens pass, it was the RoC that proposed the whole package for the GreenLine trade agreement right after becoming a member of the EU. I accept that if the RoC haven't proposed that it would have been contradictory to the fact that the EU accepted the island as a whole in the EU.

This was purely for EU regulations and adaptation as it is the "RoC" that cliams to represent the whole islandi catering for just the south would not have boded well with GC claims. So it was more obligatory than willing.

What you deliberately forget to mention VP (this is part of your propaganda) is that it was a RoC court that dealt with the case you mentioned and ruled that there should be freedom of movement for EU nationals and this was before Cyprus joining the EU and after the gates opened.
The case with EU nationals coming through the Ercan did not end up to court as the RoC Attorney General adviced that you cannot punish EU nationals coming to Cyprus through the illegal Ercan airport because this would be discrimination as you don't prosecute the TCs who do the same. This had nothing to do with EU regulations etc. This had to do with all RoC and EU citizens being equal under the RoC laws. If the RoC wanted to procecute EU citizens (and it can do it perfectly legaly and no European Court could do anything) they need to do the same for TCs.
The above shows that there is a perfectly working legal system in the RoC that is independent and can rule for things that may initially look to you to be against the GCs.

Finaly, the RoC never prevented tourists cisinting the occupied areas and this goes as far back as 1974. All that was happening was that at the Ledra Palace gates there were nonj governmental organisations handing out leaflets saying why people shouldn't visit the occupied areas since the regime used to force people to sign a paper recognising the trnc in order to be allowed entry.
This to set things right and counter some of youe propaganda VP.

It seems as though I am not the only one that thinks that the more time that passes, the more likely it is that the actual partition that we have now remains. From today's Cyprus Mail:

PRESIDENT of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Rene van der Linden yesterday warned against complacency on the Cyprus issue, saying time was running out.

Before or after does it really make that much difference the way this is perceived by TCs is that without the EU dynamic you would never have backed down, if you were not going to enter and had the freedom of no EU controls and pressure you would never have concluded this in such a manner.

The case with EU nationals coming through the Ercan did not end up to court as the RoC Attorney General advised that you cannot punish EU nationals coming to Cyprus through the illegal Ercan airport because this would be discrimination as you don't prosecute the TCs who do the same. Lets see you do it if you have the balls, I'm 100% certain that you want to but you luckily for us you have the EU on your back, without that and the backlash from the international community you would have used this opportunity to scare any potential tourists travelling through Ercan.

The above shows that there is a perfectly working legal system in the RoC that is independent and can rule for things that may initially look to you to be against the GCs.

Thanks to the EU and its mechanism to question your actions and decisions, the fear of them reprimanded and highlighting your shortfalls has made you rethink and correct your legal system.

That's why the vising tourists tell us how you force propaganda down their throats not to travel north as they will eaten alive by the barbarians who stole your land.

This to set things right and counter some of youe propaganda VP.

Always two sides to a story whats propaganda to one side is the gospel truth to the other, maybe you need to realize that all the actions of your side are seen as being forced not given willingly as they always object kick up a fuss and then back down. Its the same with direct flights, if the "RoC" were to give the green light for flights tomorrow we would see it has being something forced on you by the EU as you always fight tooth and nails not to give us anything, so any positives are wiped out by your initial and persistent negatives.

let me be the first to say how glad i am you finally found faith and praise for the eu.

and since we are all happy, and trusty with the eu why not embrace an eu solution then? i presume you won't have any objections with this.

Just like RoC, TRNC earns money from tourism, and numbers on this side are going up, including a lot of 'day tourists' who are counted as RoC tourists but come over for the day. GCs too - especially those who come through at 11 o'clock at night. More foreigners settling (and I don't mean Turks) bringing their pensions with them. And many TCs working in the South. Also, I suspect that quite a lot of items bought in the North are finding their way into the South, customs checks or not (think tobacco). The profit stays in the North of course.

All of these activities create jobs in the North and allow people to spend on imported and local goods, and of course the manufacturing of local goods makes work for more locals.

I would never pretend that the standard of living in the North is as high as the South, years of RoC blocking have ensured that. But now that a crack has opened following the opening of the gates and the small relaxations resulting from RoC joining the EU, all the statistics that I read tell me that the gap is closing.

Observer,

economic activity and economic recognition of the "trnc" are two different things. One example of economic recognition would print a "trnc" Lira and have it exchanged at international markets. Or get an IMF loan...

You seem to have faith to the EU and to the legal system of the RoC under the EU umbella then...
I am happy to hear this...now what is exactly the point you are trying to make?

Btw the same EU legal system that you have so much faith on, correct me if false, has already said that the trnc is a pseudo state and that responsible for the occuppied areas is Turkey and that it should restore all human rights in the occuppied area, including right of movement, property rights etc... I believe since you are such a big fun of the EU legal system and justice you are going to tell Turkey to leave the island aren't you?

VP the difference between the two of us is that "I read the whole book" and not just the bits that suit my case...

Wouldnt exactly put it that way but they seem to get you to jump through the hoops...Let me put this way I would never want to be tried in the "RoC", Im pretty certain you are the same with TRNC only difference is you are in the EU.

Sure as soon as we can agree all the other components that will guarantee my communities safety, representation, and establish a road map towards unification similar to the road map you rejected.

You may read the whole book but its all in Greek askimwos and very one sided whereas I to do read the whole book and know whats dangers lay between those lines.

Look dickhead , if you use inverted commas for the ROC then you should also do so for the EU , if one is illegal according to your narrow minded interpretation so is the other . Your preposterous logic is not dissimilar from that of a fool living in paradise.
