If you go back to page one, you will see Birkibrisli expanded on my original question. The partition lines may have been drawn long time ago, but where does that take us now. It appears the RoC goes on as the Government of Cyprus, recognised by the world, except for Turkey and the "TRNC" goes on unrecognised by the world, as a "de facto" state, except for Turkey, who were instrumental in creating the division in the first place, in 1974. When, how, why, whom, is my question, as to when the partition will become "official", if ever.
As kids and teenagers, we all had a gold chain with the "star and crescent" on it, which represented Turkey, which made us to be Turks, and not just simply Cypriots, so you're are correct in what you say. I do not know, what symbols GC kids and teenagers wore, to symbolise Greece, so to be considered being Greek, and not simply Cypriots. But as adults, anyone who considers themselves as Turks or Greeks, when they are in fact Cypriots, are totally misguided and need to be smacked in the face with a "cold fish" to make them wake up.
