i didn't sleep for 3 days straight after they sent me home from the hospital after my lung surgery. i welcomed the drugs they gave me at that point.
drugs can be a good thing. you shouldn't be afraid of them. just use them when you need them.

GG...you may be right...I had surgery 3 times...I know what its like...and I had to take really strong injections for 2 days for a problem that I had...and that made me feel sleepy...and I understand that those things might help you...BUT THANKS AS I SAID I WILL PASS THAT!!! No pills, no drugs...

Good on you ,Lena mou.Stick to your guns.

Drugs or pills only mask the symptoms and prolong the agony.
Unless you are suicidal or something serious like that, best to try to work through your problems without chemicals clouding the issues.

This doesn't mean there is no place for drugs. As GG says, when I had my appendix out I used to look forward to my morphine dose with great pleasure...

I dont take pills that make me feel sleepy even when I am suffering...I hate pills generally...and for my pains I need really strong ones so avoid them as much as I can...I must be really bad to take pills...and when I had the surgery I asked as less injections as I could!!!

I am crazy...but its my way!

Bloody hell Lena --- you still awake again  .

Your going to have to sort your sleep patterns out soon before you end up a nervous wreck through lack of sleep

Now off to bed you go young lady --

Think of the most exciting and tiring experience you have had -- relive that moment repeat as required til you drift off to a peaceful sleep.
night night sleep tight and sweet dreams

What exactly do you mean by "the most exciting and tiring experience that I have had"? If I get excited how am I going to be able to sleep??

And why you are awake??? You are nutty as well?? Nobody get angry with you??

Now Lena You have got me totally wrong with your assumptions that I'm angry or mean --- think of me more as a caring father figure .

The post was meant in a jovial and caring manner and without an ounce of anger attached to it .

I do really feel for you because I'm also awake at this time and you will notice a lot of my posts / comments are usually made during the night.

I have problems sleeping too but for a different reason to most people .

I worked regular nights for the last 6 years and now that's stopped -- no matter what I do I just can't get back into a regular night time sleep routine --It's going to take many weeks of wandering around semi dazed and confused during the day and bursting into life at night before I'll get a nights sleep .

As for the exciting / tiring bit I was thinking of a long swim to a beautiful Island and falling asleep on the beach with the water lapping around your feet or a long trek up the mountains -- savour the view then fall asleep under a tree -- use your imagination to make your situation both exciting and exhausting -- give it a try -- it might work

sleep sleep sleep now agapimou --- Bill

lena, don't get me wrong. i have a stash of drugs i never take, but at least they are there if i need them. if you haven't gotten a decent night's sleep in days, YOU NEED TO TAKE A PILL and get some sleep. you are going to do more damage to your body if you don't get some sleep, dear.
