Sleeping Problems!!!!

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

I have been told that the reason why one still feels tired after a night of sleep on pills is because the pills do not allow you to move into the deep REM stage of sleep, and hence you stop dreaming as well.Apparently dreaming is essential for a good night's sleep, even if you don't remember them...

I have always had problems sleeping. I was then told by a friend to try and take real deep breaths. This has helped. I breath in real deep and hold my breath as long as possible, I then breath out and hold my breath again. I repeat this about 6-8 times.

Sometimes I'm asleep by the time I've taken the 5th breath. Try it you'll be amazed.

This method is apparently widely used in UK prisons. :D :D

What if you fall asleep just after you've exhaled and held your breath, and you die from lack of oxygen???

Well I was fine up untill I started to get really stressed and one night I had sleep paralysis. I woke up and felt like I was still dreaming but I was half awake, I couldnt move, I was trying so hard to shake myself out of it, I tried to shout to my mum but nothing but air came out and I felt like someone was in the room with me but I couldnt turn my head round to see.

I dont know if you've ever been told stories about "karabasan" or "Jin" Bk but since having the paralysis I feel so bad for laughing at the stories the grannies in Cyprus used to tell me.

I read some research on it and apparently its really common for people to feel as though theres someone else in the room but its because you're not fully awake. When its actually happening its not like you can say to yourself "oh its ok" though because you're in this dreamy daze...confused and scared!!

Everytime I get into bed now I get all anxious and it takes me upto a good 2-3 hours to sleep. My doctor said its all due to stress but after that experience I dont really look forward to sleeping.

I don't know about women, but sex is better for men than sleeping pills. If a partner is unavailable, then simply re-live a previous experience and take yourself in hand. Works every time!

The stories of karabasan are legendry in Cyprus,Tc...
Almost everyone in my family have had them,so they say.
I never had them so I am sceptical. But you can't all be making it up... :D

Still there must be some scientific explanation.
What really intriques me is sleepwalking.I used to sleepwalk as a child.
I used to actually leave the house and go to where I used to play marbles (pirilli!)with my friends during the day and pretend to play. And because my parents believed I'd go crazy if they woke me up(aparetnly that is a furfy)
they would just follow me to make sure I was safe. Can you imagine a little boy and his parents, all in their pyjamas, walking the streets of Nicosia in the dead of night...
The funny thing is I never remembered anything...
