How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Is the star symbol of TC? OR is it a symbol of Turkey flag??

The crescent moon and star is a potent symbol in all countries with an islamic tradition, just as the cross is in all countries with a christian tradition.

Bad choice of symbol. Hope it was done thoughtlessly.

Anyway late me rephrase that...because VP said about a symbol like "crescent star" which I guess that is assemble with the Turkish flag!!!

I have checked the RoC web site here
http://www.euro.cy/euro/euro.nsf/dmlcoi ... enDocument

and they say the muflon will be shown on smalled value coins. Similarly the Kyrenia ancient ship.

It also says the designs were submitted to European Central Bank for comments/approval.(It is based in Germany) Time to act guys.
Here are the details

E MAIL [email protected]

Notice that here it explains why many islands are missing from European notes:

Look here:
Some European islands do not appear on euro banknotes and coins. Why?

Calculated move and reflects the GC mentality to the core.

Maybe, although I hope not.

Odd choice though. I doubt if one person in a million will recognize it as anything to do with Cyprus. Aphrodite I could understand but not this, which I had never heard of before this thread.

my god lena how do you actually read my posts? through a kaleidoscope?

because thats the only way you could possibly twist everything i say like this...

i said it will not be my currency anytime soon anyways!

and i said TCs use anything they get their hands on because, because i dont know why, it just suits them i guess, anything to make money, plus the CY pound is none of my business since i dont buy it, unless im coming to the south which is not that often, however this one i might end up using so i care about the symbols...

E-MAIL JUST SENT TO THE EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK

20 FEB 2007

THE EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK

Dear Sirs,

THE PROPOSED EURO COINS OF THE REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS

I am a Greek Cypriot citizen, and would like to inform you that I strongly reject the images proposed by the Republic of Cyprus for the 1 and 2 Euro coins. The reason is because the idols show an image of a human which on first glance seems to wear a necklace with a Christian Cross. This is a direct provocation to the muslim Turkish Cypriot citizens of the Republic, a violation of their rights under the constitution, and disrespect towards their relegion.

The images are shown here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cypriot_euro_coins

Notice the Republic of Cyprus avoids to show these images in their official Web Site here:
http://www.euro.cy/euro/euro.nsf/dmlcoi ... enDocument
(It only shows the back sides- I wonder why?)

I believe the European Cental Bank should reject those 2 proposed images as been provocative and non neutral.

Thanking you for your consideration I remain,
