How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

This forum is not contributing to steps of unification so people might as well make some friends out of it at least.

WE have more or less established,DT, that the multitude of Viewpoints posting in this and other forums are the mouthpieces of the TRNC official policy.I believe there are at least 3 of them whose job is to propogate their government's policies regarding a final solution. At the moment the strongest message they want to give is,"GCs do not want to live with the TCs,they said NO to the Annanplan which proves that they are only interested in assimilating the TCs by Osmosis in a Unitary state, hence reducing TCs to a position of a helpless minority"... This is what they see as "the reality on the ground",and any move on individuals' part in these forums to challenge that accepted wisdom is a threat to Viewpoints' raison d'etre, hence must be ridiculed and dismissed...

I very rarely post on other forums, so how can i be the mouth piece for any official body. If I were you would be able to read my post on each and every forum. The fact that my line may agree with our Government makes me no less than those other individuals who are in the same position, I think they call it the majority.

You probably didn't want the Cyprus Pound in the north but that didn't stop me paying with it almost exclusively on my little expedition to the north. I suspect something similar will happen when Cyprus adopts the Euro.

Alexis we already have Euro in the north plus US Dollars, Sterling, and the soon to be non existent Cyprus pounds but our official currency is the New Turkish Lira and we have no plans to change it.

VP,

Just curious. If the New Turkish Lira is the official currency of the "TRNC", why is it, that, those who are asked to pay, to avoid doing military service for some people, is quoted in British Pounds. The same goes for some of the High-end Hotels, priced in US Dollars. This is also practised in Turkey by the way.

Is it because, they do not have too much faith in their own currency, the New Turkish Lira or what.?

Thank you, dear humanist, for your endless optimism in humanity's ability to overcome its brutal nature, and forge a better future for itself...
Your boundless enthusiasm is infectuous indeed. :)

Great to see that all these so called Cypriots living in diaspora seem to agree on everything as it does not really effect their daily lives and do not live the realities we are faced with her eon the island, funny that don't you think?

yeah, i cant say i dont feel the same, specially the whole "true cypriot" concept, really gives me the giggles...

Shah if people like Bir, Miltiades, Kikapu and Humanist had to live and rule themselves here in Cyprus, and not live in a foreign country where the rules are set, they would be at each other throats!! Id say tops 1 month...how about you?

whereas with the likes of you ruling this place we've been throwing roses at each other for the last 40 years.

Thats exactly my point, solving things and being all chummy from thousands of miles away is easy....living the reality is totally different.

We do live the reality everyday, with people from all walks of life, in the countries we live in.

Are you saying you cannot do the same, due to some kind of disability problem, or due to pure stubbornness. If you treat people with respect, you will get the same in return, don't you think.?

Listen mate , the Turkish Lira is a third world currency , as simple as that , like it or lump it , Cyprus pound is up with first division currencies .
