TRNC Pigeon epidemic and Declining TC numbers!..

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby the_snake_and_the_crane » Tue Feb 20, 2007 3:17 am

Perhaps we should pay the settlers to start eating pigeon too. Most of the problems you mention would disappear.
When one of my daughters were about 4 or 5,we were eating chicken one day when her curiocity got better of her,"Where does chicken meat come from, daddy?" she asked.I almost choked on my drumstick, and thought better of lying."It comes from chickens, the animals you know..." I managed to stutter, thinking was about to create a new vegetarian."Poor chicken," she said with a very sad voice, then "can I have some more daddy???" Pewwww...that was a relief.I believe children need animal protein for the growth of their brain...

No you defenetly need protein in a diet!

Its just us Cypriots in the diaspora have it easy at times. It makes me laugh, I also see this with my African, West Indian, Asian friends etc...the moment we go back to the 'motherland' we see how we much of a pussy we are. We can be street-tough, we can walk some of the most dangerous areas at night, we can go to clubs sometimes where you know a gunshot could go off, we can listen to ganster rap or whatever...but when you go back home and see a little lizard running around your feet or see a goat getting slaughtered - an every day occurance in our culture that brings us no harm - we get all scared or turn our heads away lol.

In my heart im Cypriot villager but in reality im just a big city boy lol.

That's right Pyro...We called the young pigeons "Palaz"!In my time there were no mass sale or production of pigeons.People just raised them at home and ate them when they wanted.Like we did chickens in the village.
I still remember my grandma chasing and catching chooks and just wringing their necks on the spot.It was enough to give us nightmares...

Palaz is from Turkish I believe.I hope the viewpoints are reading this.

Hmmm I knew that Cypriot word should have had an element of assimilation as there is no equivalent Greek word.
Ah-vah Viewpoint says, we messed with "palaz-outhkia now

Im in London at the moment. The thing stopping me is that Im living with my inlaws at the moment untill we move back into our flat and they beign English may not like their future son inlaw getting pissed at nine in the morning and eating things that might get me arrested. And besides my Adnan Senses cds are in storage. But this w/e rain or shine the fire will burn.

I chose the name Hiyar because that is what I was at the time when I registered to this forum.Ahwell its stuck now like a tattoo. :D :D :D

How was I supposed to know that the New Zealand pigeon is sacred and protected. If he only knew I thought to myself.
