I think this is a good thing - put people off buying in the North.

Every time I see a UK programme about buying in the North now there is a big disclaimer saying that people should not buy properties there.

Is there a website or someplace where you could look to see what land/property was owened by a GC. I know someone who is buying in the North - I have warned him

I would think that the UK programme websites (eg Place in the Sun) would state the problems but I guess the only way you could know what land is owned by a displaced Greek Cypriot would be through land registry is there is such a thing in the North before 1974.

Probably a welll kept secret - certain 'entrepreneurs' wouldn't want to lose their hard earned cash by telling people the land that comes with their lovely cheap villa belongs to someone else!!
