How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The "RoC" has nothing to do with me its a GC state run by GCs for GCs and there does not represent me in anyway shape or form.

I belong and love the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, its home even with all its faults.... :)

the best solution that the majority i suspect would hold itsl a 2 state, a 1 country solution, with everyons rights respected.

kikapu and Bir might be against the grain of this forum but they are looking ar it from a realistic point of view.

you know and i know that the level playing field that vips is asking is not fgooing to happen. so rather than repeating it, i tend to agree with kikapu that a fresh approach is needed along with new thinking.

this is a forum where we put ideas forward because at the end of the day we are cypriots with a common goal, and the goal is unification. no pint of asking the impossible from each other.

some say settlers out and others say level playing fiels. whats the point to be stuck day in day out with different unacceptable points.

Pitsilos, you're absolutely correct, this is a forum where we are supposed put ideas forward. And yet when we do we are attacked by even by our own people.

I cant for the life of me understand why we should not have the luxury of catching a flight from one country to another and fly direct. With such a basic request we are branded as separatist, partitionist.

VP is attacked from all corners, yet VP has made it clear on many posts that he would never rule out re-unification but by the same token if re-unification is not forthcoming then we have no choice but push for recognition/partition. This would be the opinion of 97% of the TCs. Why then would you guys brand him as a propagandist on the payroll of the TRNC.

I have many Greek friends, I live in Winchmore Hill, North London which is predominantly GC. My street consist of at least 20 GC and 5 TC families, we all get along just fine.

I consider all you guys, on the forum,GCs and TCs alike to be my friends. I would happily share an evening out with you and your families, I would guess you feel the same. But having said this it is a sad fact that we as 2 different race of people just cant get along, at government level there are obstacles that we cannot challenge and defeat to make this possible.

So in your own words 2 state one country is the only possible workable solution. And while a road plan is drawn I cannot catch my plane from stansted and land in Ercan. That's just inhumane and unacceptable in this day and age.

TC wrote: Turkish Cypriots just want to live in peace but theyre REALLY paranoid so going against them is just going to push them further. GC population is much bigger and intimidating for TCs, if GCs want things to be sorted out then theyre going to have to be the "big brothers" and lead the way or build trust, not try corner them and mock them. In comparison to GC's, TC's are really insecure, confused and stuck in the middle.

I totally agree, understand, and can verify from personal experience that TCs feel in the middle of 2 crashing stones.
On the other hand the REAL problem I see is not their concentration at the northern part. Is not the 40,000 Turkish army they have to be protected. Is not their administrative system they have to run their affairs.
The problem I see is the dressing up of all these into the so called "trnc" Hearing Tc people saying that their country is TRashNcan with whatever law that entity represents against the GCs simply drives me crazy and I cannot accept it. And quite honestly I don’t see ANY POSSIBLE way the GCs could help the TCs without having at the same time to acknowledge whatever this mostrocity called TRashNcan represents. The only way to move forward is to change the name of the administration at the norther part and call it " Part of Cyprus solely administered by Turkish Cypriots" and also change its constitution and all its laws to become those of the 1960 agreements, or better the EU law.

After that you can ask the GCs anything you want and I can guarantee you will get it!

Otherwise you will continue stay in the middle of 2 crashing stones, and no matter how we the GCs want to help you, we will stay there looking like fools, because we are totally incapable of doing anything. Help us to help you.

Lena,
My ideal end point is a united Cyprus but to use your analogy it takes two to tango and the GC ROC is not prepared to trip the light fantastic with us as a partner and being left as the wall flowers we therefore have no choice but dance solo-why is that so wrong? You have not commented at all on my grievances vis a vis TC representation so I presume you would wish us to be adsorbed into the ROC this is not acceptable as far as the majority of the TC are concerned.

It's a lot of name calling against Kikapou Andri. For example I think ahmak is the Cypriot word for ahamaki meaning useless or something I am not sure. And rezzillik is the same word we say rezziliki meaning ridiculous
