Pyrpo,
The ROC" Is it an agreed constitution with the TCs?" Since when? Have I missed something.
Look you may love the ROC but its your country and wont be mine unless the the GC and TC get together to agree the terms. Its quite simple really. Just because you have presumed to call yourselves the government of all Cyprus and the rest of the world for their convenience have recognised you doesnt make it right. That why we have a problem in Cyprus.
Lena I feel I am not getting through here- I want a united Cyprus but not any cost and any stubborness on our behalf is more than matched by yours-that why we are getting nowhere. I dont need you to put words in my mouth I have come out and said on many occasions that I am Cypriot first and foremost and want a united Cyprus however we cannot go on forever like this andI feel the policies being followed by the ROC are cementing the partition. You should be asking your leaders what exactly they are doing to resolve the situation apart from being a pain in the ass to the EU and Turkey. Their actions today may give them quiet satisfaction but they will eventually cost us all dear.

Ive always said so long as theres a fair solution then I want Cyprus to be unified. I would rather see people getting on then hating eachother forever which is what I think will happen if things dont get sorted.

What can be done in your opinion?...I dont mean by governments but is there anything that can be done by the people to achieve this?

Also taking into consideration the way things are going what do you see happening? Do you think its likely that there will be a solution?

You got it exactly as I said it. Perhaps I should correct that the troops etc are still a problem but the root of the problem is the law that makes the basis of the so called "trnc". This law binds the TCs as long as they accept it and do nothing about it. It is a hostile law that deprives the GCs all their human rights and cannot expect the RoC law to help you as long as your under the "trnc" law.

You ask what should be done by the people. The first thing that should be done is the TC people should do what I said before. The Tc should revolt and ask for change of law either as per 1960 agreed law or as per EU law. Any of the 2 is fine, the 2nd one being more preferable and more progressive.
The second thing is change the name. It cannot reflect a separate Country. It must be an administrative district that needs some laws to run. I gave one name before. If I have to think of something shorter that would be "European Cyprus’s TurkishCypriot administration district." Another name could be Cyprus’s Turkish Cypriot Federal state. In both cases there is a direct implication of one "Cyprus 2 states" as per kikapus vision and as per all political agreements so far.

NB. I hope you do not stick on the name. The name has to reflect one Cyprus, a district where the Tcs hve to concentrate and be administed in a legal way that oes not split the country and does not deprive any other citizen its rights.

@Issy 1956

You are missing the whole point. When I talk about RoC I don't speak about who runs it, I don't speak for its president, I don't even speak for who lives in the RoC controlled areas....
I speak for whatever law/constitution makes that thing called RoC. That law is there from the 1960 the constitution HAS NEVER CHANGED ONE IOTA, and all your rights are in there.

So there are only 2 options left. The TC people now live in the northern area. THAT AREA needs administration. For that administration to be legal, and enable the GCs to help the TCs, then its law must either be the only agreed law so far, i.e the 1960 law or the EU law.

And i repeat once again, If me as a GC would be totally free to make a law governing myself the RoC law is not something that I would keep on having. It would be something else.

Btw think what the final solution will some day be, as Turkey cranches one chapter after the other towards her way to the EU.

I tell you what it will be. The EU will enforce it's own law in the northern areas...

Remember me.

Well the way I see it is that slowly slowly the EU will take over the currently occupied areas. First with economic measures and when the right time comes (Turkeys EU accession) the EU will demand the application of the EU law in the northern area. No ifs, no buts...

The "RoC" has nothing to do with me its a GC state run by GCs for GCs and there does not represent me in anyway shape or form.

I belong and love the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, its home even with all its faults.... :)

I feel contempt for you.

Coming from someone like you and having been exposed to your mindset, Ill take it as compliment :D Thank you.
