Are you sure of the figure 100.000? I asked a prominent and politically involved TC chap about this recently and was told there were about 40.000 TC's in the UK.

BTW, all my family and friends have signed this petition. I emailed friends around the world to do the same.

My question to you is, have you signed it? Would you like direct flights to the TRNC?

Thank you in advance for your honest answer.

Doesn't the children of Cypriots count as Cypriot in the UK, who have been born there.?

No, I did not signed it mrfromng. First of all, I have not seen it, secondly, it will not help solve the Cyprus problem, but instead, it will prolong it at the present course, which in the long run, it will not benefit the Turkish Cypriots in Cyprus. Once we agree on a lasting solution, we can have anything we want openly, and not through the "back door", at the pity of others.

Chris Davies, an Englishman. Thousands of TC's, all our politicians are giving a struggle for this basic, fundamental right to have direct flights to our country.

Here you are thousands of miles away, haven't been back home in 40 years and you have the audacity to refuse signing the petition and furthermore you go as far as to say it would be damaging in the long run for a peaceful solution and this would be achieved through the "back door". For fucks sake, the "front door" has been slammed in our face all our lives. How thick is your skin?

You my friend, talk out of your backside.

Isnt it just one of the measures GCs have to take to crreate a level playing field, them giving it to us of their own free will serve them better in the long run otherwise if we have to fight for it we will tell them to fuck off as we do not have an any agreement to unite.

Well of course VP, but what do we give them in return. How about proposing to them, that the crossings will be dismantled, as soon as the First International plane, other than Turkish Airlines, touches down, and the first ship docks at Famagusta. Then from there, we start removing the Turkish Troops, then so on and so on, with them giving us more and more, until the playing field is levelled.

Great idea suggest this to GCs as they need to take the first move being the recognized part of the island

U sure u r TCs?

What are you worried about?

I'm not worried about anything. Why do we waste so much time and energy to get what we want through the "back door" when we can try to open and walk through the "front door" instead.

The front door is firmly shut and locked only thing is you dont realize this but once we go through the back door then we will remember those that locked that door.

How on Earth did we get 210,000 GC's in the UK, and only 40,000 TC's, when we had a head start on you guys, as far as leaving Cyprus after the 1963/64 problems. :?: :?:

May be we breed like rabbits ? My older brother has got 11 , my late sister 17 , my younger brother 27 and I lost count !

Yeah I was on one!

We're paying the green tax now and landing in Turkey for no reason only to take off an hour later is totally against what the green tax stands for anyways. Its stupid.

Good point Turkish-Cypriot. I wonder if Greenpeace and other such organizations are aware of this.

Yeah I'm sure they are and I'm sure this is the reason theres been so many direct flights to TRNC. Even if people have a problem with it, they have the perfect excuse. If the government is going to make them pay this tax then they shouldn't have a problem with Turkish people doing their bit in saving the enviroment
