if there is a agreement and say it is the annan plan or some other plan and the settlers stay is respectable sized numbers do T/C on this forum believe they will be completly assimilated into the t/c or hopefully the cypriot state of mind or do you feel they may eventually become a problem within the T/C state.

In time all immigrants take something from the culture they have settled in. But they also usually give somthing to the culture they are part of.

If we have a solution, and if we are led by the wise and forgiving, we will find a way to accommodate everyone. As much as we would like to see every Cypriot return, it is not going to happen so there is plenty of room.

Yes, I read that article some time ago. Fear of foreigners has in English become known by a good Greek word... xenophobia. It is up to us and our politicians to create a climate that is open and welcoming. When the Turks are gone who's going to be the next problem we are going to get rid of with authoritarian anti democratic measures. How can we say Cypriots should unite and live together again if it is only the slam the door shut in the faces of everyone else. You are in the EU now, in time you will see the responsibilities that entails.

Brother I'm pleased for you and maybe one day I will join you when I am retired. I can't do my job in Cyprus, the state does not have the same level of social services that would allow me to do a similar job. Since I grew up in London and know nothing about farming I have to make my way with the skills I learn in UK.
