Greek NOVA

Postby Kempes » Wed Feb 14, 2007 8:22 pm

When my house was being built I signed up with a local supplier for Greek Nova and explained that I did not want to pay for a card subscription until the house was finished. So when we arrived we had a decoder and could not get any encoded channels, fair enough. My wife went in today to start the subscription only to be told we need to buy a decoder that takes a card.
180 CYP. That's before any subscription charges. My argument is that NOVA is only a subscription service IE you can't get it without a card. So surely it is their mistake supplying a box without a card slot.

What makes matters worse is the Greek Nova website offers the whole installion package for 149 euro. Does anyone know if that is a mainland only price. Is Greek Nova technically illegal in Cyprus like Sky.

Can anyone give me a better deal.

I really feel that we have been ripped off. Arghh!!!

btw I am in Dherynia

Greek Nova in Cyprus is technically illegal. You need to supply them with a Greek address and phone number to get a subscription. That installation package is just for Greece. They lose a bit on the installation and they gain on your subscription fees. But an independent installer has to make his profit from the installation thats why it is more expensive. With Nova Cyprus you can the dish, LNB, decoder, card etc for just 30 pounds but you have to make a subscription contract with them.

This topic is almost 2 years old. Somehow, I doubt that the original author is interested..........or even remembers that this site even exists.
