Should Turkish Cypriots recognize Armenian genocide?

Postby KELEBEK » Thu Jan 06, 2005 10:34 pm

THIS QUESTION AND POLL is intended for T/Cs.

I truly believe that we T/c should not blindly follow Ankara, we are a humane and compassionate nation of freedom loving people.

When I see young T/C defending Ankara`s actions against the Kurds and Armenians, it makes me sick. I cant understand it, only Turks can defend their country. We T/C should defend the TRNC.

Now, this next poll is one that is very important to me, not just because my future husband is Armenian, but because we T/C understand only too well as victims of an attempted genocide, how difficult it is for the survivors but for future generations of the T/C diaspora. We can understand the loss of property, terrirtory and most importantly of our love ones, and above all the injustice. Nobody has ever even expressed remorse over the Armenian genocide in Turkey, and as usual we T/C are forced to go along with what Turkey wants. Well, I say enough.

I go once step further, I am inviting T/Cs to speak out against genocide in general who ever commits it, whether its Rwanda, Russia, Germany or ......"bizim" TURKIYE.

Its a true test of our free thought process and our compassion for the suffering of non-T/Cs.

I appeal to the T/C users of this site, Brother, Turkcyp, erolz, mehmet and others to decide between right and wrong, not between Turkey and Armenia. This is a question of whats right and wrong. I am not asking you to renounce your Turkish heritage, or T/C heritage. This is humanitarian.

I hope all other T/C like myself would vote yes.

Remember this is a poll for T/Cs.

even though you insulted along with insan in a previous post, i felt the need to vote yes.

why did you suggest that I run a "cypriot society for sado-mascochism"?

Along with me? Oh come off Alasya... I said sorry for what I did, although bul*** is a very usual, common word we the TCs use in our everyday life.

OK this is an interesting discussion. Why dont we create a new thread for "Dassak Ali dayi" and one more for "Gotunundeligi".

How I miss Cyprus, its so freaking cold here in Quebec.

Although "gotunun deligi" is not as common as "dassak Ali Dayi", It is true that we TCs use it a lot. Alasya, annen duymasin agzina biber surer haa...(Alasya beware of your mother not to hear what you say or she would rub the red pepper on your mouth.)[/code]

Maybe you take a trip to Cyprus for your honey moon. How long has it been you haven't been to Cyprus?
