I must admit to having much sympathy for such an idea :)

Sorry to poop you party but are you serious? I don't care about the Gay marriage thing, but drugs and prostitution? Along with casinos I thought north Cyprus had them already. Personally when I book into a hotel I don't want to sharing it with prostitutes and their cheap men who can't be satisfied with their own wives. Do any of you have children? Do you want your kids to be stepping over stoned students from all over Europe on their way to school? Let's get rich but not by taking dirty money! Have any of you tried working with drug addicts and seen the desperation of their lives? And don't start giving me the ganga is not harmful shit. Check out the mental hospitals in Uk and see how many cannabis users are in there.

That is very true and like i said before turning the north into the gutter of the med would make it a hotbed for anything that is immoral.

Is it not better to legalise and have some control (and tax revenue) over prostitution than to leave it underground and run by criminals with no protections for workers or clients?

It is also my personal belief that most of the damage done to indivduals and society re drugs (and especially hard drugs like herion and cocaine) is from prohibtion and not from the drugs themselves.

By the way have you seen how many UK hospitals are full of people damaged mentaly and physicaly by smoking ciggarets and drinking alcohol? Should we ban these too?

just s disturbing (for some) parenthesis to your chat:
The "TRNC" is illegal, therefore there is no way it can legalize anything. They can just allow or disallow some things because they have some control (not much) of whats going on in the occupied areas.

So if the "TRNC" allows drags to be sold freely in occupied Cyprus this will not mean that such thing is legal.
