I don't think that's going to help you one bit in Cyprus Steve.

Just because Cyprus is in the EU doesn't mean that they abide with all it's rulings -- paying a EU fine could work out cheaper for the Cyprus Government compared to the revenue they collect.

If you go into the offices with both barrels blazing demanding your EU rights you will probably end up shipping the car back to the UK within the year if not sooner.

The Cypriot authorities often put various problems in the way when registering a vehicle .

Quoting the EU will put a real damper on the procedure and cause you no end of grief .

I did ship a Volvo estate from the UK through 'Andrew's Shipping' of Palmer's Green for a Cypriot friend of mine, the cost was 350 pounds {sterling) and I believe he had to pay a fee at the Larnaca bond facility.

I believe the charges are still similar for such shipping but would advise you to contact 'Customs' for the exact details regarding your further enquiry.
