Seems like more and more people are looking to support the lifting of flight restrictions so that anyone can fly non-stop to the TRNC. Lets hope the powers that be take note and allow non stop flights as a much needed boost for the tourist industry!! Interestingly only 300 people seem to have signed the "against" petition!! (figures are in the Cyprus today Newspaper).

Personally I believe that untill Greek Cyprtiots can also have the advantage of using flights to return to their homes there should be a ban on flights. If talks begin for unifying Cyprus then O.K. Otherwise it is discriminating against those whose land it is

I have been on flights that have not stopped in Turkey. It seems that its the stupidity of the TRNC and TC that we have not had more Direct Flights. They just can't get their head around how much more trade they would have if they didn't stop in Turkey and they insist on landing in Turkey for a few pasangers. We are just not that good at business. But the real question is how much trade has the Greek Cypriot shipping has lost becasue of this blockade. Not to mension Flight costs of having to go round TA.
I suspect billions but thats another story. Nationalism is really blind.

It’s quite normal to have this vision. In fact many of the TC veterans here had that vision from 5 years ago and still do, although it’s gone a little fuzzy these days much like the “TRNC” economy…
