You are not going to claim that the GCs are "Big boys", are you GR?

Here's what I CAN claim relating to your "big boys" theory... The RoC is a MUCH BIGGER BOY than the "TRNC"! How's that?

Yes, I can see the "RoC" making great headway in stopping anyone who wants to fly to the TRNC.

Do you remeber when you GCs tried to stop direct flights from the US and do you remeber what the US delegation told you?

No sorry. What I DO remember is that up until one minute ago, "direct flights" to the "TRNC" were illegal and not happening.

This Cyprus Airways Pilot is far too polite.

Personally, I would love to hold down the Press To Talk switch and render the frequency unusable to other aircraft.

And you claim to be a pilot?

A far too professional pilot to be talking to an illegal authority. That frequency would be good for singing Karaoke though.....

A "far too professional pilot" who spends most of his time on forums instead of flying?

Hmmm, yes, very "professional".

How many hours do you think I fly a week.

Limited to 1100 hours per annum which equates to about 20 flying hours per week. Regulatory thing relating to Flight and Duty time restrictions. 8)

An average days flying is 7 hours and so I work 3 days a week. It's a bloody good life, don't you think so?

It must be bloody boring if all you can do is think about is jamming frequecies and putting peoples lives at risk.

It's just a Disney Land Frequency. Besides, I can see how "Ercan is run of their feet with all the traffic congestion inbound to "ERCAN".

The airspace around there is just so busy.

The "controllers" must be so thrilled to hear anything on that frequency, let alone even see an aeroplane avery 4 hours.

US delegation visits Northern Cyprus; Greek side protests

Omer Bilge

Three members of the US House of Representatives arrived in Northern Cyprus yesterday, despite the weeks long protest of the Greek Cypriot government. US Congressmen Nathan Deal, Eddie Bernice, and Edward Withfield arrived at Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus yesterday accompanied by Justice and Development (AKP) Party MP Egeman Bagis, who told members of the press that he was having the "happiest day of his life."

The US delegation met with newly elected Northern Cypriot President Mehmet Ali Talat, as well as with the US Ambassador to Cyprus, Michael Klosson. In a press conference following the meetings, Talat affirmed that he was very pleased by the visit, and that he anticipated the continuing support of the US. Talat also reaffirmed that the chance for peace with the Greek side was very much still possible.

The embargo has got to go

US Congressman Withfield for his part criticized Tasos Papadopulos, the leader of the Greek Cypriots, for upholding the embargo against Northern Cyprus, as well as for trying to keep the visit of the US representatives from occuring. He mentioned also that prior to the visit the three congressmen had consulted with law makers from the US, the United Nations, and the EU, and had come to the conclusion that their visit was entirely legal. Withfield then went on to recall that "The UN General Secretary has, in his last report on Northern Cyprus, called for the lifting of this unnecessary embargo." He pointed out that Turkey was preparing to receive Greek ships in its ports, and called on Papadopolus to take similar steps towards peace.

And a complaint that fell on deaf ears of the BIG BOYS.

You Dimwit!

PRIVATE CHARTER or military flights into "ERCAN" cannot be restricted, whereas scheduled commercial Regular Public Transport Services can.

That was a private flight which could not be restricted or deemed as illegal.

Here is official US policy on Nicosia FIR:

http://cyprus.usembassy.gov/USpolicy/pr-fir.htm

And this is what Jeppesen has to say about ATC procedures within Nicosia FIR and who the sole recognised authority is:

Authority for Air Traffic Control within Nicosia FIR/UIR, rests solely with Nicosia ACC. Boundary
between Ankara - Nicosia FIRs/UIRs, runs from N3605 E03000 to N3558 E03230 to N3555
E03333 to N3555 E03540. ATC instructions must ONLY be accepted from Nicosia ACC, including
allocation of SSR codes.

You are related to one of those 20 people you lazy swine. Don’t you know not to bite the hand that fed you.

There is an old saying my old man used to say when he was alive about the bafitis “ Armut piş agzima dűs”, which described them exactly. Well it did those 20 anyway.

Back to work now. Some of us have to work 60 hours a week to make a living.

Second thought, I am starting my flying lessons this week to be ready for direct flights when it starts. It takes about six months , doesn’t it?

Yes, only six months to meet the required standards to meet Turkish standards.

I am off out to buy an axk-ack gun to put on my roof in Aglangia, he should be visible from there.

Thanks, we now have a practical solution. We'll all buy a private jet each, they can't be that expensive in this climate.

The other day MOD was selling helicopters £1000 each. and no I did not miss any zeros.
