Also I have to say there are a lot of evidence and documants proving that the Armenians were slaughtering the Turks too. The Armenians never tell this side of the story however. There is evidence in the Turkish archives that they were indeed killing Turks and these archives are open to people to go see for themselves. However the Armenian archives are sealed shut and not open for inspection by anyone. Why is this?
Greece my friend wanted Enosis to expand. At some stage both Makarios and them realised Enosis was absolutely impossible. After 1968 Makarios was talking openly for the "feasible" solution, this meant a totally independent from Greece nation.
There is tons of evidence the Greek Junta was governed by the CIA. The American Embassy in 1974 was a state within a state in Greece back then. The agreement was to stage something so that Turkey gets a PREDIFINED part of Cyprus and after that go ahead for double Enosis. FAMAGUSTA was not inside the agreement. (Just think why Famagusta is still empty until today)
In 1974 the Mainland Greek Generals knew exactly which areas Turkey would take. The General chief of the Army (a Mainland Greek) forbitten the Units to open fire at the Invading forces- what more evidence do you want?
So you may ask what went wrong? It went wrong on the fact the Turks took more than what was agreed beteween the Greek Junta the CIA and Turkey.
