Question of Armenian genocide - "Screamers" movie

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby T_C » Sun Feb 18, 2007 5:11 am

Pits I finished watching the program, I had to stop it before because a good film came on. Watching it I can definately see why you think the way you do. I'm going to get back to you properly tomorrow because its 3:00am and I can barely keep my eyes open.

I just have to say though that I cant really take anything about the Armenian question too seriously when they completely fail to mention anything on the Hunchaks or the Dashnak (<---) rebellion movements that were formed as early as 1887-90 (its a bit like trying to tell the Cyprus problem without mentioning EOKA or TMT). Theres so much proof these movements existed from documents to the killings of governors, police chiefs and even the attempted murder of Sultan Abdulhamid II. All the documentary mentions is "the Armenians formed a resistance" and it stops there...nothing more is said...they completely fail to mention where they obtained so many guns from (Russia, since the Dashnak movement was formed in Tiflis, Russian Empire). Its a long story that I will try and cut short for you tomorrow.

What really gets me is that theres not one mention of muslim death in that whole program which is just absurd, at least Turkey owns up to 300k deaths.

I will also try my best to dig out writings I've read by Armenian researchers when it came to these rebellion movements so at least its something you will be able to trust and so we can finally start to put an end to this on going (nowhere) debate.

I didnt mean it in a malicious way Pits (unlike some of my other posts :? , but man you're stubborn and inconsiderate sometimes)

Ok let me re-phrase it "if these are the kinds of things that you've been watching/reading then I can understand why you think the way you do..."

i looked at this video and seen propaganda all over it.

what propaganda to me is looking at some truths and then blowing them out of proportions to fit an agenda.

this doco, falls into this category.

but and there is always a but. if you are to see pass the propaganda, you will see the truths it was built on.

for starters you cannot ignore the historical facts that are shown, secondly you cannot call the variuos letters from foreign dignitaries lies, and thirdly the march towards the deserts.

and yes i am very certain, the armenian independance squads are not what the doco describes them to be. i am sure they would've been brutal, and i make no mistake about this. i am also sure you can provide proof of this.

what i said from the start is why does turkey need armenia to settle the matter. why not turkey start having healthy debates in turkey, with turkish historians with out intimidation. ok i said open the archives, to which you said they have, and provided links. but they are in turkish.

further more the archives do not give human accounts, from both sides.

end of the day if turkey wants to end the controversy, she has to take the lead and see where the road leads her and accept the outcome.

ps i thought you said you going to bed. i got a party to attend, my daughter's 18th birthday and i am in charge of the BBQ in a 38 degree heat. and let me tell you its fucking hot outside.
