I think so. I really dont think theyre going to get anywhere anytime soon and the longer they leave it the less likely a possibility for a unified Cyprus. Even if the people want to unite, thanks to the people in charge it just wont happen. Neither of them will back down, I just cant see it happening anymore.

Please guys.... I very much enjoy reading what you all have to say, even when it becomes a bit heated in the "cyprus problem" section!, but please provide a translation for those like myself who unfortunately can only speak English (and a little of other languages like french & german which aren't really applicable on this forum!). Also, it is one of the rules of this forum ;)....

Thanks,
Pete

I believe that the undertones are certainly indicating to me that that is where it is going to go. I think it is tragic for Cypriots and I think that will create a place of resentment for eachother because it separates people as opposed to bringing people and uniting each other. That's what I believe. I also believe that in a United Cyprus the Turkish speaking Cypriots will also benefit economically as well as culturally in global representation.

Former Greek Cypriot minister Nicos Rolandis believes that partition will become permanent within the next 5 yrs (As quoted in Alithia newspaper):

"because the impression was created that we (Greek Cypriots) dont want them, 65% of Turkish Cypriots have reverted back to the partition idea"

He also critisised the G.C leaders for failing to support President Mehmet Ali Talat in efforts to reunify Cyprus.

On a personal note, I think it it is very sad, for the Country and the people of Cyprus.
