There is absolutely nothing wrong with the history book for the 6th grade of elementary school. The ranting of the sick nationalists bears testament to the truth.

@ Bananiot

So you consider 3 pages of Cypriot history and 147 pages of Mainland Greek history "nothing wrong"?

@ VP

I really cannot offer an opinion on the matter of your education unless I receive an experts opinion. All I know there is plenty of propaganda in Turkish schoolbooks too. They all start with the life of Ataturk and some photos for one...

So what you are saying is that we should not teach our children about the founder of the modern day Turks and just label it propaganda?

Glorifying Ataturk and trying to make him look like a God is totally wrong and yes it is propaganda. Go look some onderendent studies as to what Ataturk really was, and then compare it with what your schoolbooks say.

Hey you gave me an idea:Lets start teaching our Kids about Makarios the God the founder of our Republic.

Your hate for anything Turkish shines through yet again, do you think it would be beneficial for us to teach children about peoples sexual and drinking habits? rather than concentrate on the end product of how they influenced history? if children wish to investigate other aspects like yourself we encourage them to do so by finding their own sources.

Why not? we should teach our children about Makarios because has he played a part in our history good or bad but I do not understand why you have to label anything as propaganda as long as you convey what they did and roles they played in shaping our past.

I could state that Makarios had sex with under aged boys go ask the British as to what information they have this subject but defaming someone will not help us tell the what they achieved and the legacy's they have left to the world and particular Cyprus.

I know he liked his drink but don't we all? and it was what probably killed him but as to his sexual preferences I have not come across anything that would make be believe what you say. Just as the accusations the Makarios had sex with under aged boys and was caught in the act by the British.
