Tell me that again when it's freezing outside in winter and virtually everywhere is closed.

David,
If you intend to rent out your apartment. The Government will want a percentage of the income. I am not sure what the figure is now. Also the CTO may want to inspect the premises and ask you to take out a license.
A few people have been caught out in the past, and faced a hefty bill.
Just check carefully before you advertise, if you are going to advertise.
Interlink might be a good place to start.

Ah.
There is something Interlink failed to mention.
Will look into it but if I remember its a percentage of profit not income that is taxable. At least Ihope so.

I agree with Grumps

I think you will find Simon that the Sky anytime service will require the user to access via a UK IP address much the same as BBC, ITV and 4 on demand does. :(

As you can't legally receive Sky broadcasts in Cyprus due to their licencing agreement it would make sense for them to restrict internet streaming of their programs too.

Whilst they can't stop you receiving Sky in Cyprus as long as you pay from a UK address and don't tell them where you actuall are they can restrict internet access to UK IP addresses only very easily and will do this to prevent you viewing from somewhere out side of their licencing agreements.

Notice the service is advertised as Sky "anytime" and not "anywhere"

I suppose it can be done via a proxy server though but is cyta's excuse for a internet service good enough

We'll have to wait and see Bill. It has to be worth a go!!!

It could be installed on a server which is based in UK and just VPN in so there could be ways around this, if my little plan doesn't work.

Just looked into the CTO tax/licence and it seems that you cannot get a licence if you do not have at least 5 properties. When you contact them they are not bothered and wont come out to inspect the property as you dont own 5 so aren't entitled to a licence.

Hi all,

Has anyone had the email about the sky dishes being between the 3 blocks?
Does this change anyones opinion on opting for it?

David.

Hey, come again?

One install for 3 blocks? How is that going to work? I thought it was one install per block. There are also 6 blocks so are you talking about two installs, one for block a b and c and the second for d e and f??
