We were also told by Andreas that there would be chairs tables parasols etc around the pool. Was anyone else told this??

Okay…
There is no mains sewage in the village so they either have a septic tank come cesspit arrangement that just drains into the soil or they have a ‘bio plant’ that does some clever pre-processing before draining the waste into the soil.
The ‘Sunrise’ development next to yours has a big bio plant that hums away all day as do some of the other larger developments in the village.
I’m assuming that some of the high charges you are facing may be to cover the cost of running/maintaining the bio plant…

Dear Mr Grump, do you mean "hum" as in mechanical humming or "hum" as in smell? (or both)?........................................just idle curiosity
