We are looking forward to getting to meet you all and we should try and get together sometime when we are all there. As Kate and Lee and Simon know we are in block F and are awaiting completion as we are the last to be finished BUT we have heard it should be completed by end April. If anyone has a few pics to post on here that will be great. See you all soon neighbours!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

We have just returned from Cyprus after taking delivery of our apartment. The complex is coming along nicely and Tanya said that Interlink are hoping to be out of everyones hair by the first week in May. We had a few minor issues with them but nothing they weren't willing to sort out asap. Not sure if you all know but Interlink had to give back 20% of the land to the community so the only surprise was that the area in front of the abcd block pool has been given to the public and is being turned into a small park type thing.

Hi

Small park type thing?....please explain. This is very concerning. Do you know anything else? I don;t want kids everywhere and I thought this was private property? Did Tanya say anything else?

Hi,
Sorry, Park may have been the wrong choice of word but a small patch of land with benches. However not sure if the two entrances to our complex to the area will have gates.
When you say you don't want kids everywhere what do you mean?? Not trying to sound too rude but are kids exempt from enjoyment??

Hi Simon,

No it wasn't in our contract, infact we were led to believe that the complex went all the way to the edge of the land. My father in law is there till tonight so he is going to take a good picture of it.

I think you’ll find that all developers have to give a certain percentage of the plot back to the village – it would certainly not have come as a surprise to Interlink. It is generally shown as a ‘green area’ on plans and on completion can be left as anything between a children’s play area and an unsightly rubbish dump.

Luckily it has already been laid with paving etc so it looks like we will avoid the rubbish dump scenario. I think your right about the 'green area' on the plans. My issue isn't really the area itself its that if the Interlink don't put gates on then surely they are breaking there contract as it is a residents only facility. Is this normal with cyprus developers??

Welcome to Cyprus…

If it is shown as a green area on the plans and your contract doesn’t specifically say that the green area is for residents only then I’m afraid my friend that it isn’t…

I’m not sure what the rules are but our green area is ‘open’ and I’ve never seen a gated one.

This is my thought on this. They would be breaking the contract if they did not deliver the gates/swipe cards. I have emailed Tanya on this and I'll wait for her answer. The gates/security was a major factor in purchasing the apt and is a key feature for us. Not happy!
