Well, almost right but not quite, dear Karma.
Ekmek means bread but you have pide (or pida) bread which is like the pita you eat with souvla, and pide (or pida) which is really a pizza with topings on it and often folded. Toppings traditionally include mince meat,Turkish sosage (sucuk),lamb pieces (kusbasili) or pastirma with spinach ,tomato, mushrooms (your choice) and toped up with a combination of cheeses including Halloumi, fetta and mozerella....Yummmmmmm.

My offer is still open to anyone who lives in Cyprus and wants to open a pide shop in partnership with me>>>Any takers? :D :D

pide is also the big round bread with sesamee seeds that is only sold fresh during ramadan, early in the mornings for the people who fast and are about to eat the first meal of the day...

We use "pide bread" or just "ekmek" for what you are talking about here Shah.In Australia I mean.We use "pide" exclusively for the pizza version with toppings etc.My sister had a cafe which served pide (Turkish pizza) on the side, and I learned how to make all that stuff.Plus put on 15 kilos in 3 years! I am still trying to take them off.
