reputable lawyer E Cyprus

pamandpaul88, whatever advice you accept regarding your enquiry, there is one route you may consider practical to begin with.
I would suggest you seek a rented accommodation initially, there are plenty available and you may find it advantageous to live for a while in the locality you prefer, before entering into any permanence.
The experience you gain from a personal enquiry will easily compensate
for any expense you may incur by falling into the hands of an incompetent
or even unscrupulous lawyer.
There are far too many heart-break stories when it comes to property purchase in Cyprus, tread carefully I urge you.

Best wishes and Good Luck.

Isn't the term 'reputable lawyer' an oxymoron (and not just in Cyprus)?

Better still, forget buying keep your money in the bank earning interest and rent ,its much easier and you can walk away if things dont work out as you have no legal ties other than say a years contract on the rental,i personaly would'nt buy unless i had money to burn!!!!

I am currently having a terrible time with pittadjis law firm in paralimni. In my experience they have proven to be totally incompetent.

They can sue me for this if they like, there is nothing i want more than to be up in court telling of there bullshit service. TV crews would be all over the place.

So find yourself someone else is my advice.

Happy shopping.

8) One mans meat..... ive only just read this thread and have to say that im in the process of buying a place in cyprus and im using the same law firm as pantheman and have nothing but praise for them! the lady dealing with matters legal has been very good, explaining the process and keeping us up to speed on what is happening, and we have no complaints with the service at all. you can only speak as you find

Like some other contributors, I have been using Pittadjis with no problems (so far). I used them specifically because they appear on a list of solicitors on the British High Commission website:

http://www.britishhighcommission.gov.uk ... 2220923764

It's like any service in any country, everyone has a different experience. I have received poor service from a particular company at the same time as a friend received extremely good service from them!

Yeah, thats how they started out with us.

Then is just went to pot. Monies from the sale of my flat were not deposited in my account, flat sold last august. (not sure if money is paid as i have been chasing them to deposit it for the last two months.

Always broken promises and never call when they say they would. Don't get me wrong, plush ish office, dececent receptionists, but lawers, forget it. If they don't sort this out within the next week or so, i will be reporting them to the cyprus bar and the British high commission who list their site.

you can go with whom you please, this is just my experience, be on your guard, you have been warned.

Oh, and yes it was anna michael dealing with our case then fobbed off onto some else who knew nothing of the dealings so it was back to square one. She has a nice smile !!!

Postby odysseus » Mon Feb 19, 2007 10:51 pm

hi all,
i have only just found this forum and the question of a reputable, independent lawyer was the reason for my doing some research. I have a close friend needing sound advice on a property she has in Paralimni. Can i ask for the names of some you might recommend?
regards
