"Settlers"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby shahmaran » Wed Feb 07, 2007 4:08 am

yeah kick people out of the country, that would definately set a nice example and make a nice country for us to live in...

i personally dont mind the Turkish people in there at all, i mean someone has caused 100s of thousands of TC to leave the island back in the day and now they are annoyed about the Turks taking their places?

well talk about shooting yourself in the leg, i bet they never saw that one coming

My generation was the first Cypriot generation whose innocence was taken away never to be returned by the Cyprus conflict. I have not forgotten anything, but have learned to forgive the previous generations for making our lives hell. We must make sure that at least the future generations can enjoy their childhood, and their innocence, and grow up as better human beings than our generation. This is why I strongly believe in a solution that will remove once and for all all possible sources of future conflict, and will allow for peace ,justice and compassion to grow in our homeland, the only one we have... :(

Thats what I said...we have to forgive and move on...we have to make sure that our children are going to have a better future ... But lots of people like VP...are not willing to do that. And the new generation if its like Shahmaran and Joanna...we will never live in one country peaceful and justice and compassion are going to be just simple words.

But Birkibrisli...you are really a man to imitate!!!

Askimwos…the issue here is not AKEL!!!!!

Lena I know that the issue is not AKEL, the whole point was brought up while discussing Talat's U-turn and that there had been an agreement between the two parties in the past

Askimwos...you know our government is not AKEL...!!!! RoC is not AKEL....!!! GCs is not AKEL....!!!!

Lena, I don't know how young you are but here you have a party that did not take part in the intercommunal clashes in the 60's, has traditionally been for raproachment and one of their main slogans is that the TCs are brothers and not the enemy. You know very well that if there is one party in the south that had traditional links with the TCs is this party and we all would like to see more actions from their side. AKEL may not be the government but they represent more than a third of the GC electorate and need to influence tpap policies or get rid of him alltogether.

Lena have you never for 1 second considered that division maybe the solution, do you prefer the period between 1960 to 1974 or 1974 to 2007. The peaceful life we have on both sides is an indication that something is working right and people are not dieing everyday like Palestine and Iraq.
