Hate with a passion is probably to strong. Happy to keep at arm's length is better.

I think they dislike him because he is protecting us GC'c by not accepting re-unification

I am not sure about "hate" but mistrust - yes and for good reason, go back to his beginning and you will see that in the late 1950s, Papadopoulos was active in PEKA, the political section of EOKA.

sure they can view him as an obstacle, but the problem was the no was decided as soon as the plan exposed it self.

everybody knew the ref was gonna fail anyway way before the vote took place, no surprices here. why is he the scape goat?

i would like to know what it is

Lets face it papadopoulos is not the innocent angel that some may want to portrait him...and surely he is not one that has his hands clean in terms of his 1960's policies and "secret" plans.
Sorry to say but this is a naive question to ask.

Joanna, sorry to say but you are a minority in the GC side in terms of your views. I want to believe that Cypriots have not grown to become as greedy as your comments suggest.

I got to agree with askimwos Joanna, really it is embarrassing to think that Cypriots who share those values still exist. NTPOPI.
