So according to what you are saying Bir, people like my grandparents who have bearly ever left the island and myself, who hold only a TRNC passport, are not "real Cypriots" but the ones that do hold a RoC passport and the ones, like yourself, who live abroad and want unification, are "true Cypriots" ?

I will quickly explain my notion of "True Cypriot" Shah. A True Cypriot is one who sees Cyprus as his/her motherland. He doesn't give a damn about other Cypriots' ethnic background or what language they speak or what god they worship. A True Cypriot is one who wants to share Cyprus with the rest of Cypriots,in a United Country based on democratic and human rights principles.Simple isn't it?

A Real Cypriot on the other hand is one who was born in Cyprus before 1974,or who has at least one parent who was born in Cyprus before 1974.
Don't worry, you are covered in this section...

What like that real Cypriot Makarios or the more recent replacement Tpap? They really worked or work on those principles. Look after the GC population and stuff the TC and you are asking us to kick out Turkey and walk into the arms of a black widow. Come on be serious.

it just doesnt make sense tho, either we are ALL Cypriots and ALL count as a whole, or we dont, you cant say GCs count as a whole, but TCs count only if they are "true and blood", is it only me who finds this ridiculous and unfair?

why should their immigrants be any more worthy then ours? is it because they are Turkish? because we got plenty of asians too, are they ok to stay? or is it because they are OURS and we should act like guests in our own island...

Look at it this way,Shah...If a lot of Chinese (using your example) arrive in the RoC tomorrow(or tommorow I can never remember which for some reason!) and want to have their own independent state in west Cyprus guarded by 40,000 Chinese troops, they would not be welcome either.Do you get the point now?

Stop talking a load of rubbish man. We are not Chinese or any other foriegner. We are Turkish Cypriots from Cyprus that are not wanted on Cyprus as such. Every now and again you have a little gripe at Tpap but do nothing the get rid of the tyrant and still you recognise that he is that but want to lead us into his arms. WHY.

I will reply to your post later today my friend..

Pyrpolizer,

After you get to answer Bir's question, could you please also, in a nutshell tell us, what ways one can become a citizen of the RoC. For example, in the USA, anyone born there becomes a citizen automatically, regardless whether their parents are citizens, illegals, or even making a flight connections while making a stop over in the USA, while being on their way to New Zealand. :!: :!:

In Switzerland, unless one of your parents is Swiss, good luck. Nothing is automatic here.

kikapu a while back during the clinton era, the us was deportin illegals, mexicans, with their kids. their argument was well they can come back when they are over 18.

the kids were us citizens but couldn't stay because of the parents.

I do not remember anything as such. There's no age requirement to be a US citizen, if you are born on US soil. Of course, the parents could have been sent back, but the child was never required to.

it happens when they raid the illegals.

the kids have to go back with their parents.

also the fact that there are no records coz they don't get medical benefits and the most births by illegal immigrants are not recorded

@pyro

i was born in cyprus, so obviuosly i am a cypriot,

my wife is australian and both my daughters never beien to cyprus. could they be considered cypriot citizens?

the reason i ask is because my oldest wants an eu passport. is she eligible for one?

sorry re for asking all these questions when a quick call to the embassy can give all the info i need, but since the subject came up why not ask.

also how can you get a permanent exit visa?, the embassy here says it doesn't exist but i know people that the cypriot club says you can get one. they say apply and when you do, you get no responce from the embassy.

I'm sorry Pitsilos, but you're misinformed a little. Most illegals are Mexicans, and once they cross into USA, legally or illegally, they can not be refused any of the Social Services, including giving birth in our hospitals. Once the kids grow up, they are also schooled, in Bi-lingual , English and Spanish, as not to lose their heritage. Often a lot of the "Right Wing nut cases" in the USA complain about how much services the illegals get, which can be more than the citizens them selves.

Even the "Right Wing nut cases" have a point sometimes.

But then again, Americans enjoy the "slave labour" from these people, otherwise, BIG MAC would cost $10 Dollars a piece. :!:
