Ayia Napa and Protaras

Postby Sunshine01 » Fri Feb 02, 2007 11:41 pm

Is Ayia Napa larger than Protaras?
What family kind of things are there to do in both resorts?
What are the best beaches for snorkelling in the area?
Thanks :)

Agia Napa probably slightly larger than Protaras. But since there is a lot of new properties being built in both places it is difficult to say :).
Ayia Napa has got the largest themed waterpark in Europe - Waterworld, which everyone should visit. There is also luna park in the center of Agia Napa, near Mc Donalds.
In Protaras there are two places that I would recommend to see: Ocean Aquarium (with lots of different types of fish and also crocodiles, little penguins etc.) and Magic Dancing Waters, spectacular show with dancing fountains.

Ayia Napa is a village that was there for 100s of years. Protaras is just an area on the coast that was developed recently as a tourist destination. I believe Ayia Napa is bigger. But since one from another is like 15 minutes drive you can live in any of the two and explore the whole area Ayia Napa - Protaras - Cavo Greco - Paralimini and even more :)

Thanks for your replies............we are hoping to hire a car but as my 2 year old grandson will be with us we dont want to spend every day driving somewhere.

Does anyone know the best place for snorkelling, as one of my sons really enjoys this.

Thanks
