GorillaGal, you have stated:- "I try to remain fairly open minded and regardless of what anyone thinks"................

May I enquire of you just what 'good' are you suggesting your country's presence is doing ?.

Do you understand the basic requirements of a legitimate war ?.

Do you consider your country will be able to extricate itself from the situation it has created with honour?.

If you can present an acceptable answer to these simple questions, you will have gained superiority over your president, help him out GG, he has dug himself a hole deeper than the one he found Saddam in, your country needs you, it sure as hell can't help itself !.

GorillaGal, may I offer you the use of the 'straw' you accused me of grasping at earlier?, it appears you have run out of ideas when it comes to responding to questions put to you as is clearly illustrated by your latest comment.

What a preposterous question to put to humanist!, here we have a perfectly reasonable contributor to this forum whose views are constantly attuned to the basic principles of decency, yet you insult his intelligence by posing such a nonsensical question. You KNOW what the USA should do, you KNOW they will not do it willingly, as do most of the civilised world, the only course left now is to try to shift responsibility for their barbarism on the very people they have murderously attacked, the eyes of the world are upon your squirming president, whatever ascendancy he held on the world stage is rapidly diminishing and only a complete admission of failure can save him from abject shame for his evil intentions.
How many more of your troops must forfeit their lives to 'HELP' those unfortunates who were subjected to your country's cowardly bombardments in the guise of liberating them?, your country is accountable for the death of every ciivilian from 'Day 1' of your invasion, there is no 'Bolt Hole' through which such barbarism can escape, I
am greatly surprised that you should have asked such a question at this advanced stage of discussion.

i am sorry you were upset by my question, which still hasn't been answered. i know you all want us to pull out, as of yesterday, but i don't think that is the answer, and would leave the country worse off. and that is why i posed the question to you three, who are right there to critisize everything the USA does. but i still haven't heard any answers.

[Thought I'd stick around a bit here as it might annoy zan ;) ...]

GG what is your opinion: was Bush right to order MORE troops into Iraq? And go against what his own "advisory committee" seemed to recommend?
