We use dog sitters in the UK, they look after the home, mow the lawn etc whilst you are away, and live at your house. It is quite costly over here but well worth it, the sitters are police checked and have references. If there was a need for it over in Cyprus maybe looking at finding other people who want to be sitters and managing it eg. charging a fee to set it up, then the sitters get a certain amount per day. Another thing they are doing where I live is mobile dog washing. They have a van and come round and wash your dog outside your home. I have never had my dog done so don't know what equipment they have, I should imagine it might be quite specialised. Our local petrol station even has a dog wash! Looks like something at a fair ground! I have had a similar idea and it would be something I would be very interested in, trouble is we don't move until April 2008.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and opinions! :)!!! I am really getting excited about this idea and think I may just give it a shot after some more planning. I am living in Nicosia at the moment and would start it here, but am not opposed to doing some work in Larnaca as well. I am still hoping to convince my husband to move there to be by the sea anyway :)

Please keep any comments comming and if anyone else is out there that would be interested in this service let me know. It is encouraging to hear from you :)

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

are you looking to just look after dogs or would you think about cats also? We used a cat sitter in the UK and she would come in twice a day and stay for 1/2 hour at a time, feed our cat, clean up after her etc. close curtains, turn lights on etc. it meant we could go away on our much needed holiday knowing our cat was still in her own home and getting some company as we didnt want to put her in a cattery.

Was that really necessary Karma?

There are atrocities and children dying in the world and a lot of us try our best but it happens. Don't judge - it makes you look ignorant.
