Hello everyone - this is my first posting.

We bought a flat in Peyia in October and have still not received a water bill. Is this normal?

I also wonder whether it is possible to set up a direct debit payment to cover water bills in the same way as we have for the electricity.

Any advice would be gratefully received

Hi, that's quite normal. Don't worry they will catch up with you. I think the bills come out every 3 months but someone will correct me if that's wrong. and yes you can set up direct debit.

hi,, the bills are sent out as follows.
water,every 4 months
electricity,every 2 months
telephone,every 1 month.

can anyone please tell me the monthly costs of electric, water and telephone. and how much does it cost to get a home phone and broadband and tv ????

hopefully we'll be living in a 3 bed in Paralimni area so just need any info available to work out the move

Electric depends on your need for A/C, electric is expensive in cyprus.

Home phone and 1mb broadband is £40 a month bar a few cents...

If you will be calling UK a lot, have a look at Vonage, it works out very cheap for voice over ip.

TV will depends, the excellent showtime package is around £185 a year, and compares well with sky, but if you want a UK package you are stuck with either a large dish or sharing using your broadband connection and a dreambox which has mediocre quality at times...

Water is not to bad, expect £10-15 a month if you take a lot of showers, mine is around £6-7 most months.
