Hi There,

My name is Martyn Neate, I am 33 and currentley live in the UK with my Partner/Wife and our six year old daughter.
I am very seriously considering moving to South Cyprus with my family to start a business and carry on my trade as an electrician.

We have spent much time traveling around Cyprus, We love the country, the people the culture everything really.

My question is?

What are the regulations/qualifications governing electricians?

My Qualifications are:

City & Guilds 16th IEE Wiring Regulations BS7671 edition qualified.
City & Guilds 2391 electrical testing and inspecting qualified.
City & Guilds confined space electrical installations qualified.
SIRA Hazardous area electrical installations qualified.
NICEIC qulaified.

Electrical Experience 17 years
Electrically qualified for 10 years

Experience in Domestic, Commercial, Industrial & Agricultural installations including Chemical/Oil refineries, upto and including 400ft working heights.

Can you help?

Kindest Regards

Martyn & Family

As long as you can wire ring mains in bell wire then you should have no problem.

Only joking Martyn

Where are you in the UK and have you got plenty of work?

Hi Martyn

Your Qualifications are what is required in Cyprus but Cyprus doesn't recognise UK licenses so you will have to take the exam here to be self employed You will find work here for a Cypriot company but the language is frustrating if you don't know any Greek on the building sites.
