yes this is very true but the ac unit are cheaper to run on heating than cooling (if reverse cycle) but overall if you want central heating look at gas (sigh as I am electrician so i cannot help you with this (ie my company))

an electrician !!
do you have a lot of work and are you earning well ??

i ask because i am doing the c&g 2330 and hope to pass it by April and then try to do the 2nd year over the internet and return to the UK for the exams.
hopefully just after easter 2008 i'll be qualified.

i'll be moving to Cyprus in a few months and want to work as an electrician or electrician's mate.

if not able to get elec job, will try most things.

i have experience with many aspects of landscape gardening and general DIY, so i hope to get work before i come over or hopefully find it asap when i get there.

will be living in Paralimni area.

any help or advice will be welcome

many thanks, Paul

Paul I have been though this earlier if you go back though this thread you will find the answers to your questions as for finding a job before you come well i think is a big ask, if you a competent spark you will find work if you are a general hand you have to compete with the polish labours who will work for very low wages

what kind of wages are there for electricians out there(weekly)

though i'm not qualified yet, i have experience of wiring etc, including assisting in rewiring a whole house and fully wiring another, incl. fitting a ccu and wiring into mains supply - no! didnt touch the 100a breaker mr southern electric - honest !!
ran a new ring at home and ran power to the shed.

so bits of experience and getting the relevant qualification.

just want to work in the trade and get lots more experience.

won't have a mortgage to pay - just living expenses

Uk qualified means nothing here as Cyprus doesn't recognise them you have to sit the exam locally. Over here there are many english sparks that are not really sparks they spend time ripping of the expats so if this is your plan join the queue, if you have other skills let me know I may be able to help you. as far as doing your exam 2008 in the uk well if you want to come cyprus dont bother as they worthless here
